The part that makes me mad about the game is that I should not need to spend money on a monitor or adapters for my controller to be somewhat sucessful.
I already had this stuff so I was wondering if it is worth switching to a monitor or moving closer/getting a chair for the TV (I sit on a couch)
Yes, it's worth switching to a monitor, but look up the response time see the specs. Under 5 MS is ideal, but you'll still see a big difference from your TV regardless of the response time.
Agreed 100%. I have one of the best rated gaming TV's, and a 1 ms gaming monitor, and the difference on a 100 mph fastball is definitely noticeable. I play on the monitor all the time.
Did it affect your record? I don't want to lose so much in ranked lol. 20-23 is really bad compared to everyone in the forums
Ignore your record, it literally means nothing in this game. You can be 200 games under .500 because you weren't good to start the year, and make WS. It has zero impact on anything in the game.
Yeah, I have some good days and bad days in this game. I've beaten showdown 3 times in a row but sometimes can't score a run in the bosses or beat a mission. It would be a project to move the PS4 to the monitor though...

But I went from about an 75-100ms input lag tv, to a 10ms monitor, 1 Ms response, and in 17-18 and at the beginning of 19, I was a .500 player who'd be lucky to hit .260. And at the end of 19, placed 11th in ESL and now if a hitter hits less than .333, he's off the team.It's not going to give you magical skills, but if you're having issues with pitch recognition and if you feel your TV is hindering you, might be time to make the move. All the top players of most games swear by a monitor for a reason.

To start the year, I was on a TV, I literally had to swing as soon as the ball left the hand in order to even make contact on guys like Kopech. It's not that way at all on my monitor. I have time to make a decision instead of just having to guess.

It's not "slower" on a monitor. The monitor shows you what is happening in real time, as the response time does not have delay. Your TV shows you "what happened", not what's happening. The TV is behind the action, the monitor is not. Hope those ways of stating it help clear up the confusion

Here's a nice side by side comparison. Look how much easier it is to react on the monitor, it's a noticeable difference even on a youtube video. Really, you shouldn't play on a TV for any competitive online games that require quick reaction time.

I play on a 4K tv on my couch. Got a pretty solid online record. Make sure game mode is turned on, or if there is no game mode then choose the lowest resolution. This is so the tv doesn’t have to work so hard to produce an image.

Nobody can help you without knowing the specs, your just getting a lot of talk about nothing. If it’s faster it’s faster, but you’d have to check on a website like Rtings.com with the model numbers on the back.
If it’s faster, it will make a greater difference in this game than any other game you play which is why it’s so popular around here.
