No matter how much any developer tries to capture the most truest essence of a baseball game, they will always come short. Some will be better then others. But there is no other baseball Video game out there like MLBTS. Even in the past with 2K Sports & as well EA. They each had a few good things about them, but so much more bad things about them as well. MLBTS is not perfect & never will be. There are many things that really get me upset with how bad those certain things are. However the game as a whole is very good & i do honestly enjoy it & like it. As well I am grateful there is at least still 1 baseball game out there for consoles that is as good as this 1 is. I dont even count RBI Baseball because that is purely arcade style & is nothing like this or how MLB2K or EA MVP was back then. I was a die hard Xbox guy until they lost MLB2K & i switched over to PS3 & PS4 "ONLY" for MLBTS.
From what I know, the MLB license expired with 2K & they did not want to spend "X" amount of money to renew it because of decreasing sales each year mostly due to many abandoning 2K for SDS & their MLBTS. No one else has tried making their own game because they either do not want to pay for the MLB license & risk it being a bust or they know they are not capable of releasing a game better then MLBTS & stealing it's loyal following.
The same can be said of Madden. It is the best football video game out there right now, but it is NOT perfect & never will be.

The game is far from perfect, but if you honestly think SDS has the worst developers in gaming then you are clueless. If everything you say is a ridiculous exaggeration, no one will take you seriously.

Very hard to say they suck when there is no one else out there to compete with them. If EA or 2K or any other label were to get the MLB License & release a baseball game. Then 1 can compare the 2 & give an opinion which 1 is better or worse. But impossible to say 1 is the worse when it's the ONLY 1 out there. If anything they are the best because there is no one out there to even challenge their product.

It really is unbelievable how bad this game has become. SDS you have the worst developers in the history of gaming congrats. 10 months in and still the catcher cannot throw to first after a forced dropped strike 3. Congrats on sucking every year, base running and fielding are s fuckkking joke. And hitting and pitching needs a total upheaval. Congrats SDS you have the worst devs in gaming.
Nice. I'll give you an A+ in Hyberbole!

Hitting used to be fun, now it’s a nightmare. Fielding is a toss up, especially with Griffey who was an all world defender. This game awesome but a joke in the same sense.
-
it is what it is! The worst cliché ever! LOL
-
Just hit the O button when you need to throw to first. Not sure why people still haven’t figured that out.
-
Yawn... How do you like javi so far?
-
Instead of crying please do us all a favor and just bump an old thread ffs
-
Dude, have you seen Fallout 76? Anthem? And you come here saying MLB The Show has the worst developers ever? Your hyperbole just makes it easy to dismiss your claims.
-
Nothing matters in this game it is an absolute joke, I'm almost curious about the beta just to see if they listened to anything. All world defenders making baffling errors (especially at convenient rubberband times), hitting having no user input/reward, pitching being a toss up. This has nothing to do with simulating baseball, they can't even make the systems in place mean anything.

Do you still play, or nah?

Holy [censored] I thought it was April of 2019 for a second

I just beat Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order yesterday. All of my “good/squared ups” crushed enemy stormtroopers, and I had fun. Break open your piggy bank and go play that game since you clearly don’t like this one.

I thought it was really good overall. Slightly buggy at times, but nothing game breaking. I found the 3D map a little hard to follow, and there is no cursor or anything like that pointing to your next objective so I got lost a couple of times. I also didn't like that there isn't any fast travel, especially for post game clean-up. If you missed a collectable at the very end of a level, you have to fly back to the planet, walk all the way back there, and then walk all the way back to the ship.
As a whole though, I enjoyed the game a lot. The story and combat are great. If you have any interest in Star Wars, I would give it a shot. Especially since it has already been on sale a few times. It's currently $45 on Amazon which is about what I got it for. $50 on PSN if you prefer digital. Don't bother with the deluxe edition. You only get a couple of skins, a digital art book, and some behind the scenes videos.
