I feel those who quit games, do so mostly when they feel out matched or when someone just had a really big early inning scoring 3-5 runs & now doesn't want to grind out the game trying to gain back the lead fearing they will continue being out scored by that other team. I know because I have quit many RS games for those same exact 2 reasons.
Oddly at times I have mixed emotions when someone quits on me. At times I feel like "Cool, easy win, easy RS rank points" & at times I get really pissed off because if that game was being played for a program mission objective to gain program points & the person quitting now nixes that mission & it has to be done all over, then that ticks me off.
I feel there is not enough penalty or penalization for those who quit other then the loss itself & getting an other "quit/disconnect" card. The player needs to see there is much more to lose & to be punished for by quitting games.
I feel I may have a solution to this that will prevent those from quitting as easy & as often as they do. Some out there will LOVE this idea & some will HATE this idea. But here it goes ..........
Lets say that RS game would give +50 to the winner & -50 to the loser. If the Loser played out the entire game to it's end, then the loser only gets -25. He only loses half the ranking points as a bonus for playing the entire game. But if he quits, he now gets a -150 which is 3x in negative then what the winner got. So quitting is now a ranking point value of like losing 3 games immediately back to back. Apart from that, quitting causes a 3 hour ban, meaning the system detects your last "quit" & blocks you from being matched in an RS Game for 3 hours.
ONLY THING THAT BYPASSES THIS "PENALTY" AN AGREED "FRIENDLY QUIT"
I feel this will prevent many from quitting so easily & as often as they do. Tell me what you guys think.
You confuse me. In one post you complain that you're getting matched up with players that are Elite, thus not giving you a chance to compete; thus giving you one of two options: Take a beating or quit.
Then in another post, you want to 'punish' people for quitting.

There are also real life factors to people having to quit, internet disconnecting is one, not everybody has the same internet as you, which has widely been discussed on this site before.
I’ve had to quit games I’ve been winning before because I’ve had a kid wake up at night and had to deal with them and someone wouldn’t accept a friendly quit, so I guess I should lose 150 points for something out of my control? I’ve been playing a game and then been hit by a storm during the game and have had the power go out, should I lose 150 points and be banned for 3 hours for not being able to control the weather?
There is no solution needed for people quitting games.
Only 'solution' is to maybe implement a 'Concede' button.

To remedy that, everyone can have "3 Grievance Outs" per month. Meaning if they truly did get disconnected due to internet issues or some other emergency within the household did happen that prevents from being able to continue playing that game. Then they can use 1 of those 3 Grievance Outs & not be hit with the Quit Penalty. Now that is very fair because again many quit just because they being crushed or out matched. However with a mercy rule implemented, the suffering wouldn't that long if the other player is killing you that d**m fast. LMAO
And what happens when there are server issues that cause someone a game?
-
As Skepple pointed out, some people have real life reasons to quit. Why penalize them?
Maybe they have kids? Something comes up that is more important than a video game. Imagine that? I don’t remember anyone accepting my FQ requests in these situations. It’s punishment enough to take a loss in a 0-0 game versus a comparable team. -

Please give me your meaning of 'quitting' for this scenario.
Are you talking about 'Rage Quitting' where they dashboard or when they just pause the game and select the 'Quit' button?

Op, it's not a bad idea. But you have some excellent players that disagree with you because they don't care about quality game play and just want to get to WS asap. You also have some terrible players who quit all the time and they also don't like your idea because it will affect them. I could be wrong but it's just my take.
Your probably not complaining about quitters who quit down 7 or more runs. Your probably complaining about the chumps who quit down a couple runs and yes, it's poor sportsmanship and I wouldn't mind seeing a stiffer penalty for those players.
But it's probably hard for them to implement and they probably won't do it. But again, I wouldn't mind seeing something implemented for excessive quits/disconnects.

Why? Games take upwards of 45 minutes, if someone doesn’t want to stick around and get their teeth kicked in for 45 minutes why do you people care so much if they quit?

They've implemented something for getting your teeth kicked in, it's called the mercy rule. I'm talking about guys who quit down 1,2, or 3 runs. I don't want to play 5 innings then have someone quit when I hit a home run and score first. That means I have to enter another game and I may not have another 45 minutes to spare. That's my beef with quitters.

I mean you got the win and now have time to get ready for whatever it is only gave you 45 minutes to play, seems like a win win situation to me

You are missing the easy solution which would stop most people from quitting mid game. Stop winning. If you want to go 9 innings so badly, just suck for those 9 innings and then try to make a come back. Problem solved.
Otherwise, stop the whining because you people sound ridiculous.
-
What a terrible, dumb idea. If someone quits, just take your points and play another game. You only benefit from people quitting, there is no downside.
-
And the award for dumbest post goes to...
-
I personally don't see the point in punishing people for quitting. The player base gets smaller day after day after the release and if you start giving someone 3 hour bans or any kind of ban, while they are banned they will find something else to play. Business wise, not a smart move for them to implement that. As far as people quitting, I don't understand why anyone gets so upset over a person quitting in a video game. Who cares, you got the win and got your points. I would hope something like this NEVER comes about
-
Wow!!!!! I really do love it when any of my post gets so much feed back being either negative or positive. It shows what I may choose to post, critique or suggest within it will entice others to comment back, being good or bad. Isn't that the entire point of a forum? Some times the majority will agree with the post & sometimes they wont. in this case the majority did not agree with it. My bad, but you guys got to admit it got a lot of you talking. LMAO

Nah this is dumb, who cares if people quit? There aren’t missions anymore that get effected by someone quitting. Also, sometimes quitting can be strategic as it saves your bullpen stamina, same on the other side as well, I’d rather someone quit so my bullpen stamina get reset and I don’t have to use it.
- I don't want to play against someone who doesn't want to play me. Let them quit.
- The big payoff to winning through forfeiture is that my bullpen gets completely rested. I am constantly rotating pitchers in my BP to get have 3 lefties with full stamina and four righties with full stamina. A recharged BP and a few points towards the next online tier are all the rewards I need.
