I hate Shippett Stadium

It sucks playing there. It absolutely sucks. You don’t have to hit the ball well for it to be a home run there because of the high altitude and bandbox dimensions all around. It’s just not fun at all, and it’s not even a visually interesting stadium in any way. And all of this is compounded by the fact that over 50% of games are played there. It’s just so frustrating because there’s nothing you can do about it - you have to rely on your opponent missing the ball instead of you making old pitches.
At least the other high altitude stadiums are deep with somewhat interesting visuals. I’d much rather play at any of them than Shippett.

I would think they would want a more neutral park where it really makes a difference if you are squaring pitches up more and out pitching them.

Like I said though, I’d rather play at laughing mountain than Shippett because of the big dimensions and it’s also just more visually appealing. Shippett is literally just a field with stands behind it.
True I agree with you there. Its just even higher evaluation balls seem to fly out of there everytime I play.

While there doesn't seem to be too many "neutral" parks, playing in a big one is the only way to quell the boring homer-fest. Personally, I like Forbes for that very reason; someone might send one 420 feet, but a fast outfielder can run it down if there's enough loft.
There are still some home runs (very few from me), but Forbes and Griffith are about the only places where pitching and defense seem to matter. I realize I'm in the minority here and in the real world (the best real game I've ever seen ended with my A's winning 1-0 on a Mike Gallego suicide squeeze, sometime in the late 80's), but can't beat a low-scoring game filled with high-leverage situations.
So, there are always home games...

At least you actually have to earn your HRs. Shippett was ruined for me when I hit a HR with Juan Pierre and didn’t even have good PCI on it. So yeah you might hit more tanks but your opponent is also going to get a lot of cheap HRs too.

I completely agree with OP, shippett is no fun to play at. This game already has far too many HRs, the last thing you need is a stadium where 96 mph is a HR to center and 90 mph is a HR to left or right.
I'd much rather play at a stadium like Forbes or red rock than shippett so any fly ball hit even moderately well won't automatically be a HR.

Date Palm is the best IMO. Good backdrop with mountains and palm trees and a good batters eye. Neutral dimensions. Still has some pop off the bat compared to like Bayfront, but not OP power.

That's not good pitching though, the guy still sent the ball 420 feet, you're just playing at a trash stadium that benefited you, had nothing to do with your "good pitching"

I agree it’s a pretty stadium. And the dimensions are okay with me, the ball doesn’t fly out like crazy.

Yes but at Shippett routine fly balls go for HR's. Playing at Shippett and hitting 3 extra HR's a game because the ball flies is just as bad as playing at Detroit and losing HR's to the lack of altitude or dimensions.

I would call myself a better pitcher than hitter I have a 3.00 era .310 avg usually playing wc (I think the 3 era is impressive bc I play at shippet. I like it bc I can hit homers on not good pci placement. So I usually just spam high sinker bc most people can’t hit and I’ll throw the slurve to throw em off. Idk why I am saying this.

If we’re being honest, there’s no such thing as a “good pitcher” in this year’s game. The pitching engine is too random for any amount of skill to be properly rewarded. If you’re a “good pitcher”, it’s probably because you’re playing in a pitcher-friendly ballpark (like Forbes) and/or facing bad competition.
I mean, look at the top of the leaderboards. Are there any players with ERAs under 4?

I think pitching in this game is (and has been for a couple years) been too difficult and tedious even besides the meatballs this year. But it’s compounded by half of the games in higher tiers being played at the most friendly run scoring environment in the game, where you don’t even have to put the pci on the ball or time it up well for it to be a home run.
There have been so many low and away or outside pitches in general I’ve seen just yanked over the wall at Shippett. It’s just not fun at all.

The thing is most people at the top of the leaderboards are consistently putting their pci on the ball, doesn’t really matter where they play, they’re going to score a ton of runs, that’s why at the top you’re always going to find high era’s because they’re always playing each other
