Why is it when I take one lead of the base the pitcher feels the need to try to pic me off 9 times in arrow? Don’t know how the manager expects me to steal a base when I’m not allowed to lead off at all.

I have had this problem often. I have learned that it depends on the pitcher. Sometimes I can lead off, and sometimes I can't.

But the game already gives you a lead off. Any step you take is extra and you should be ready for a throw.

Just hold down the return button/stick while your taking your lead and you will never get picked off but they will still try to pick you off constantly. The AI will eventually get bored lol.

Every now and then the game goes into show time and my guy never gets back in time (19). I must be doing something wrong.

How fast is your player? in RTTS you completely control your jump, so it's really easy to steal without taking a step, unless your player is sub 60 speed.

Like someone said already, hold the left stick to the left and as soon as the pitcher makes any kind of movement jam it to the right. You will steal the majority of the time and wont even get picked off. If he makes a move to pick off, you will automatically go back on the move.

Pick off in this game is ridiculous..even with the normal lead the pitcher quick throws and you can never get back to the bag in time
