If I had one guaranteed wish for next year…

…it would be to not have to face anyone who cheeses to win. I’m talking constantly stealing (and even when you pitch out he still makes it back to first safe), rundown cheese, slide-stepping (when it would be illogical to do so; ie. bases empty), spamming high sinkers, knuckleball cheese, etc. It’s really a shame people choose to play this way.
I can’t think of any sort of way to regulate this stuff because unfortunately it’s just part of the game. But man, I wish I didn’t have to deal with this [censored].

I feel ya. had a guy slide step every pitch last night. ended up squeaking out a win thank god

I like provolone.

I agree with you here, especially on how broken high sinkers are in this game. I'll gladly take a number of glitches next year if it means high sinkers are nerfed and proper throwing input is promptly recognized during rundowns.

you bring up a great point on the throwing input - i really hate when it gets mangled

I would like a mechanic in the game, that if someone bunt dances too much, they get stuck in the bunt motion.

I agree on the stealing and run down cheese, but there is nothing wrong with slide stepping even with empty bases. It keeps your opponent's timing honest and it's a legitimate move. In fact it might bite the slide stepper in the behind because you lose a ton of accuracy and the chances of throwing it down the middle for a meatball increase big time. I don't mind if you slide step all game, I will make you pay for it.
Also hitting high sinkers is something you can practice and get better at. Approach it from this perspective; if someone throws you a high sinker and you crush it, you also crush his soul. That's how to make them stop throwing it. Same goes for knuckleballs, yes they are incredibly hard to hit. But you can practice on it and if you hit a few balls hard against a knuckleballer, chances are they'll pull him out of the game.

I was thinking you were hoping for 'no lineouts,' or a slider to reduce them, or maybe a 'no lineouts wednesday' or something, lol.

This is hilarious.
So basically, YOU would be stuck in bunt motion the entire game.
LMAO that's awesome.

I don't bunt dance. And only for that at-bat. I worded that poorly.

This is how online play has been since I started playing the show online in 17, doubt it will be different for 20. I am also pretty sure it's been like that a lot longer. I remember playing Madden online for PC in 2000 and it was cheese fest then. The only way to not face it, is to not play random people online. It's why I don't play online any more at all. Dropped my PS plus altogether

High sinkers just need to be fixed. High sinkers in real life just move like a bad 2seam fastball. Throwing a high sinker with any cheese on its own, it’s the fact that they don’t fix it is the problem. Side stepping with bases empty is cheese in the game too, but Johnny Cueto used to do that all the time to throw off people’s timing
-
I'd like them to fix the frame rate issues in most of the major league parks and the lighting design that makes the ball invisible during certain times of the day.

Ok I see this all the time. What is the purpose of them doing it? Is it to try and break my concentration while pitching? It doesnt affect me one bit and have just wondered what the point is.

If there is one thing I know about certain online players it is that they will always look for, and usually find, some way to cheese the game.

I would like a mechanic in the game where if people pitch out of the zone all the time none of their pitches hit the strike zone rest of the game.
(Hence the reason people bunt dance is usually an indicator to the pitcher to "freakin pitch the ball" and stop trying to make everybody chase!)

Um...it's called "expanding the strike zone" and it's been a thing since baseball was invented.
In fact, the current trend in real baseball are less pitches in the strike zone which is resulting in more strikeouts.
