I'm still thinking it will be Alex Gordon.

Another option, one that i would like to see, is 98 OVR Greinke (2009 CY Young Card). He would have insane HR/9 and a pitch mix of FB (95 mph), SL (85 mph), CH (84 mph) and extremely slow curve (73 mph).

If it’s Gordon, do you think it’ll be flashbacks all around? Or just SS in general?

I'm guessing maybe postseason flashbacks because even Gordon's SS card last year was only a 93 OVR. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Yes, but this thread is about what that means for TA4. Since Brett is the best player in franchise history, it’s hard to see how they’re going to top that in stage 4. My point was that every other AL reveal could be topped by a franchise legend, like Foxx, Cal, Babe, Frank, Griffey, Rickey, etc etc., but the inclusion of Brett throws that theory out the window

I’m not sure every team could find a player to fit that requirement. Ex: the White Sox haven’t been to the playoffs in so long that I don’t think there are any active players who could get PS flashbacks. Maybe if it’s expanded to include legends, so Buerhle could get a PS card from 2005.

Good point... It is, as you mentioned, quite the conundrum.

I wouldn't be too upset at a Gordon for ta4, that 93 last year did better for me than quite a few 99s.

I think TA4 will be flashbacks or finest cards. They could give every team a finest card and the big names (Acuna, Yelich) would be in packs.

There was a poll last year for every teams finest with 3 options. So they can just give the less desired choices in TAs.

I think TA4 will be each teams beat current player at 99 ovr. But that’s just my opinion ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I don’t know. I don’t think we can assume that TA4 will necessarily be bigger and badder. I think Kaline fits into the best legend of the team, so does Killebrew (because they probably don’t have Pucketts rights) and Bagwell. Jim Palmer is close to that level for Orioles. Best pitcher at least.

Kaline is Mr Tiger, but franchise best is Ty Cobb. Killebrew, Mauer and Carew are close, you are probably right that Killebrew is tops. Palmer isnt close to Ripken for most.

Good point. I think you’re right on with kaline (maybe Cobb is a bigger legend, though), but I would put Walter Johnson over Killebrew, Cal over Palmer, and Biggio over Bagwell (but biggio obviously isn’t getting another card).

I was amazed at the amount of Nolan Ryan jerseys I saw when I went to a game in Houston last year. Just by that, maybe Ryan is considered near the top.

That’s true. But unlike biggio and Bagwell, Nolan split his time with three other teams. I’m not really a Nolan historian, so I couldn’t say for sure where he put up his best numbers. I’m a little bit biased, though, because I grew up in Fort Worth in the 90s so I’ll always think of Ryan as a ranger.

Maybe SDS is saving some big names for an Evolution program/ player program, But that seems too easy. Unless you’re like me and took hours to get the 2 extra base hits and 1 stolen base with Jackie! Lol

His best seasons for the most part were with the Angels, but I could see him being a stage 4 guy for any of his three main teams.

I’m expecting Finest to be TA4. I think the amount of headliners, player programs, inning bosses, 12-0 rewards, events and specialty packs this year leaves room for the legends still to come. There’s also a good chance we see prime/awards or SS cards at 150 stars in the later stages of the year.
