Carew. Meh.
You. Meh.
At least he’s not Jimmie Foxx. I’ll give him credit for that. He might have a spot on my bench to pinch run and play first when Thomas comes out, but only because they removed Griffey Sr.’s 1B secondary.
I don’t know why you seem to think I would be personally offended that you don’t like Jimmie foxx or Frank Thomas.

Friendly jab, as you frequently post about Foxx. And I do like Big Hurt’s cards. Looking forward to his 99. He just isn’t a great runner to have on base in late game situations.

I never got to use Carew last year, wasn't he a BR reward? This card looks nice, I see he has 1B as a secondary. Would I be crazy to play him there? I know you want power at the corners, but it seemed like that card torched me when I did face it last year.
He was a BR reward last year. I got him when he was around 125K I think. I should have bought three or four because I think he shot up over 200k and stayed there for the rest of the game cycle.
His defense was terrible last year (but a lot of silver infielders were awful in 19... meanwhile, common fielders like Frank would be a vacuum). So playing him at 1B would minimize his defensive liability. I haven’t found a 2B that I love so far, so I’ll keep him there for now. But you could always put someone like Didi, Dietrich, Correa, Jazz Chisholm, etc at 2B and Carew at 1B. That way you’ve, still got power at 2B and a guy who gets on base at 1B, so you’re just kinda flip-flopping those roles.
Yeah, I keep forgetting Didi and Correa have 2B as a secondary. I like your thinking, gonna give him a try.
Also there is some benefit to having speed at 1B, I have Evan White there who has 80 SPD and 95 Fielding and he flies around on groundballs and fouls. Carew should be able to save a few hits over at 1B.

I've got more action than my man, John Woo
And I've got mad hits like I was Rod Carew (yeah) -
Im thinking I’m going to wait to see who comes out in 5th inning and Stage 3 before I get him. If I move him to 1B I need someone at SS or 2B with more power. Love Carew’s swing. Contact God. I actually had dinner with him in Tony Oliva at spring training in Fort Myers two years ago. Great guy!

Carews swing is money , always worth it in the show

I'm gonna try him at 2nd...hopefully his speed will make up for fielding

Great 98 Carew card. Put him at 1B and leadoff. 4 for 5 first game with a triple and 2 SB. Catalyst

Hows Carews card working for everyone? II wanted to wait a few days before I chime in. have never tried him before and his price is very feasible.
Thanks!

So just used his gold card in the event, working toward BP. OMG 2 for 2 with a hard hit double and a HR. Third AB i got walked. That is insane for for such low power, has to be the swing right? If his Diamond card hits better than his gold, this is an end game card.
-
If HRD Cano didn't exist, I'd be using Carew.
-
His defense prevents him from being end game at second, and theres too many options at first to fit him in to me. He's a great option offensively either lead off or #8 to flip the lineup over.

So, I just recently started playing online....not very good yet, but getting better. I picked up Carew during the market crash right when they announced Trout to get all of my Sig cards for about 28k. OMG. Not only is he a great leadoff hitter, the guy has hit more HR then any other player I have. He pulls the ball like nobody's buisness....his swing in amazing. He will likely be my starting 2b the rest of the year (although I just picked up HRD Cano yesterday too, so may try him out...he hits rockets)....great speed, serviceable D (make up for silver D with his speed), and power WAY beyond what the number say.....

Carew is so great. I sold him a while back and immediately regretted it, and bought him right back. I'll be keeping him until a 99 Joe Morgan comes along.
