To be fair this online fiasco wouldn't be a problem if SDS didn't prevent offline only players from having the chance to prestige players offline. They could have easily made an offline grind with 3x the amount of stats requiring AS difficulty or something. Poor planning on their part.

Nah offline "grinding"is for the 90's. Play online or beat it!

No way. This community is incredibly toxic. If I didn't have to play online I probably wouldn't honestly.

What fun is playing the cpu? Where's the gratification? Its like playing checkers vs yourself.

And what exactly is the difference between grinding vs cpu and me playing my at bat with my top 3 and quitting every game (already have 100 wins). My team name is the same it’s been all year and I’m not messaging people begging for stats (although lots of people give them to me anyways).

The prestige grinds aren’t “boostable” offline due to them being for a single player (ie you can’t stack a lineup with 8 1b like 18).

If they didn’t want these shenanigans then they should have either made prestige offline too or ranked seasons only.

Yup, I see a lot of online guys in here cry about not wanting great cards to be achieved by offline grinding stats. The standpoint of not wanting people to be rewarded for hit and quit vs CPU on Rookie, yet here we are see online boosting that is technically easier than hit and quit vs CPU on rookie.

SDS had short term memory loss on this, 17 was the year of online boosting, they fixed it with 18, yeah they went overboard with stat grinding. The fact is the multiple routes is the way to go, so no doubt 20 is better than 17 or 18, but still room to improve.

Honest question... Why would a strictly/mostly vs CPU player go through the trouble of playing online for the purpose of trying to prestige a card???

And thats also where they made a mistake. It shouldn’t have been a different card and just changed the color of diamond and gave a sort of inside edge boost. And I know it would affect guys like you but how many people come remotely close to getting every single card? 10? 50? It really can’t be that many

They can’t do it “more”. They opened this up by making prestige stats only attainable through online play. It was poorly planned to start with. Most players are already done with the reward path and it’s not extended so people are going to boost because there’s no other reason to play the event. I can say that most games I’ve played in the southpaw events players have asked for stats or will let you score in return for a win. I don’t see an issue with it

I was gonna try to prestige Hanley, but I think I'll just work on Jackie's hits/SBs. I only have one red diamond, Oswalt, just got it done without really trying. I'm about halfway there with Feller, but I took him out of my rotation for now.

Some of the event games I was playing my opponent would field the ball and then run into the OF, or throw to the wrong base and run out to LF. I guess they thought they were helping, but the game scored some of them as errors. And I wasn't even asking for hits.

I guess the stats will come one way or another. My last RS game Ellsbury had 3 HR and 7 RBI. That won't happen every game, but if I keep the cards in my lineup I will get there in time.

You don’t see an issue with it because you’re exploiting to your advantage. Just because they opened the door to this doesn’t you mean have to walk thru it. I personally find it much more gratifying when I earn my stats and wins, not when they are handed to me by little billy cus he asked nicely. And if someone has 100 wins already they obviously play this game enough that the prestige stats will come naturally so there’s no need to beg for them.

Bully for you. And I will continue to bat my 3 prestige guys and quit each game until I either complete the grinds or SDS recognizes their mistake and makes the stats any mode (ie offline too). Not begging for stats, but also not playing more than the 1st inning either.

You know, if user input made more of a difference in the game, I think this issue would matter less.

Nobody would complain about offline players grinding for great cards if those cards didn’t bail them out with poor swings getting rewarded and pitcher confidence shutting down good swings.

I get it, the game is designed to play like Corey Kluber is always stingy and Bellinger always hits tanks, but at least in pvp modes, only the weaker players want that.

You’re not trying to exploit or calibrate with another player to boost. I see nothing wrong with that. Bully for you as well...and at least I mean it

If you were talking about RS games I’d understand your gripe but events game essentially mean nothing. Your record isn’t affected and you lose nothing by quitting, giving up runs etc. The game opened this up by making these stats only available online, this happened with Griffey missions a couple of years back so this is no surprise. Can’t be complaining about people exploiting it when it’s been left open to exploit. Stats are stats, when you play online no ones gonna be able to tell how you got them lol

Here’s the simple solution, don’t boost and you don’t have to worry about the ban. What would be even funnier is if when you are able to get back online and they’ve reset all the stats for that card.

The cpu doesn’t hold R2, bunt dance, offer last second friendly quits, send rage messages then report you when you respond with expletives & pick Shippet every game. Enough reasons for you?

Or dashboard mid home run, or use every second of the pause timer all game, or spam high sinkers, or take advantage of bad animations (to score on infield grounders from second), or keep me from pausing for 5 minutes if my wife or kid need something, etc.
