Opinions on Zack Greinke

I enjoy using him, especially if you use the curveball rarely to keep it effective.
-
Would you use Greinke over Pearson or El Duque? I just pulled Greinke and those would be the 2 pitchers I would replace with him
-
Get him for this price. Worst case scenario you likely sell at break-even. His slider is good and that slow curve is great as long as you are smart with it and don't get greedy. Plus he's got a bit of a bat, he forced a rage quit in the 5th going 2 for 2 with a two-run HR lol.
-
He sometimes gets shelled. I have 4.25 era after 79 innings.
-
I like him quite a bit.
-
I had him when he was 70k and sold him after getting knocked around a few starts. Picked up Hamels and never looked back.

Did this exact same thing. Completely agree I love that Hamels card. Hes been great for me.

He's good enough to throw out there for sure

What do you prefer about Hamels compared to Greinke? What makes him better in your opinion?

Easier to control. Pitch selection. Lefty with a semi funky delivery. Need to be able to locate pitches with him, though. Not overpowering so if you leave them over the plate you may get smashed. His change up is unreal....

Been rollin' with Hamels all week and never looked back. Greinke was solid too but not Hamels-solid!

Those "front door" called-3rd strike changeups! Still makes me smile!

I just picked him up because he was so cheap and wanted to try him... I was thinking it was gonna be like Rodney for me, where his stats look good but gets pounded in RS. I have used Greinke for 2 games 16.0 with no runs allowed so far and I'm not very good. He has had great control for me hitting the edges consistently. Nice curve ball
-
He’s gotten himself into some sticky situations for me but has made it out of a few bases loaded situations. Seems like decent damage control. Serviceable fastball, good movement on slider, curveball is effective for me. Good variance in pitch speeds. He’s not my type of pitcher to use though. I like to have a fastball that can touch triple digits and he’s not quite there.
