My problem is that I am a completionist. I have no problem with a challenge or a grind but so many of these moments feel broken and frustrating.. also, the pitch speeds are higher and the pitchers avoid the strike zone like the plague most of the time....you hear everyone on here talking about beating moments extreme and such, but that might be like the top 25% of this game. What about the rest of us that are just average?

SDS said before releasing those moments that "they aren't for everyone". So those moments were not designed for the 75% you reference

I beat both sets before this one. I’ve reached ds in ranked and that’s it. It just takes patience and looking for one or two pitches that you can hit.

Create a game that has content that 50-75% of the player base feels hopeless about....excellent business model. It's a video game...Have you ever heard the phrase "those are video game stats?" This is because this is the average fan's expectations when playing a game. Do you think people would play soccer games with 1-0, 2-1 scores regularly? That is what happens in real life. That is what they are trying to turn this franchise into, the closest simulation to the real thing. The catch is, that I want to hit 2-3 homeruns every game and score 5-10 runs. Why?....because it's a video game and that is what makes it fun. Offense is way scaled back in this game, for me anyways...constant line outs, especially in moments, where the statistics show like .600-.800 batting averages in real life on balls with exit velocity of 100mph+...not the case with this game. I know I have the choice to play different modes, but I like Diamond Dynasty, and unfortunately feel as though it's being heavily scewed towards the uber competitive and online crowd....

Heavily skewed? You mean a couple of moments targetted towards better players = HEAVILY skewed?

Couple=2, check the dictionary....moments extreme is at least 15...also, most of the story line moments might as well be moments extreme as well...now we're up to 30-50 moments. Should I keep going?

And what % of that is of all the moments released? 2-5%?

Can't dispute that, but I selfishly don't want even 5% of the content that I don't have a chance at. Let me grind...I loved 18 for those aspects. I truly felt as though I could unlock everything if I put in the time. Also, spending hours failing moments over and over is maddening and an element that could be avoided by eliminating moments altogether...

I understand that mentality, I am a completionist myself. But what about offline players who want a super hard challenge? Why does ALL the content/moments have to be tailored so you can do it?

Not that me personally can do it, but that the average player can, if they are willing to put in the time. I do wish to preface that if a moment is going to take the average person 50-100 attempts or more, that is not what I mean by putting in the time..

They figured out moments after June. Before that, they were literally a difficulty above what they were supposed to be and involved ridiculous requirements - the original storyline moments come to mind.
Moments are more enjoyable now. Moments extreme are supposed to be extremely difficult - it’s supposed to be a challenge comparable to the old moments. They’re a good addition and I Hope moments are back in the game and expanded on this year.

So just ignore some that want hard moments and ONLY create ones that an average player can do?
That creates a win-lose situation. It upsets offline players that want the harder moments while making the average player happy.

The one they currently have is closer to a win-win situation.
95% of the moments can be done by the average person, but the people that want hard moments get that small 5%
I'm willing to bet that most of the "average" group will not be mad enough to quit the game because they can't do a small portion of it, I would say you are likely the outlier in that group.

Have you seen the percentage of moments complaints on the forum? The outlier is the person saying they love moments...

I don't think that can be accurately exfoliated into saying that it is an outlier. The negative crowd will always be louder. How many people are going to come to a forum to type "I love moments"? I've complained about hard moments before, doesn't mean I don't love them.

And my point was not that some people don't complain, but that they wouldn't quit over it.

So answer me this..."If the average to above average player gets this frustrated when playing some of these moments, how do you think the first year player or newbie is going to feel?" My point is that these minor amounts of frustrations are potentially a microcosm of the entire bottom 75%. You are correct that the negative is louder, but what percentage of the negative aren't even taking the time to come on the forums and complain? Maybe I'm just getting too old(38) and video games are getting harder ....

You don't seem to be understanding my point. My point was not that the 75% would be happy and enjoy the hard moments.
My point was that it's closer to a win-win for SDS because some people who want harder get a small % of the moments.
And the people who don't like them likely won't get so mad they'll quit the entire game series because it's such a small % of moments.

You seem to be missing mine.....thinking holistically, game modes of this level of frustration, even at a small percentage, are avoidable...that has been my point since my opening thread, sorry you missed that but I slowed it back down for you....I'll make short and concise statements from now on...

They are technically "avoidable", but that's not the point. Some people want challenges like that, so avoiding it isn't the answer. Keeping it to a small % is the answer and that's what they've done.

You seem to be saying F it to the people who want this game mode difficulty, why can't they have a small % of the game? Why must they only please your view of it? The game doesn't just have to give 100% of the content to the 75%. the 25% can get some to.

I get what you're saying and see that you are clearly taking the side of the top 25%. I appreciate that, so I'll stop trying to sell you on my point. Strictly speaking about myself, I buy games to complete them. I am fully aware that there may be challenges, but I won't purchase a game with content directed at only upper echelon players. Hard is fine, borderline impossible is not....its an impossible situation for SDS and one in which they can't make everyone happy, that is what you are saying and you are correct. My final thought would be "What percentage would be higher? Upper echelon players still ok with hard but not borderline impossible moments versus the percentage of average to below average players that feel defeated by borderline impossible game content?" They could be tuned down, still be hard, and still offer this difficult content that you enjoy. Seeing as though the forum has been begging for this all year, and little has changed, I was hoping that they would not be present in MLB20.

I already dealt with the what % is higher. Yes, 75% is higher, BUTTT 99.9% of the 75% aren't going to quit the franchise over a few moments. That is why I said

"I'm willing to bet that most of the "average" group will not be mad enough to quit the game because they can't do a small portion of it, I would say you are likely the outlier in that group."

That is why it makes sense to do a small % of hard moments for the 25%, because it's not going to cause a mass exodus and fulfills what that 25% wants.
