Madden is 10x worse than the show. Not even close

Well the most recent winner of a “major” had a punter at QB for handoffs. You don’t even need to pass the ball to be crowned the “Madden Champion” and the meta defense is sending the house and sacking them before they can read their progressions. We may complain about RNG, but Madden is absolute garbage.
Oh [censored]. Exploits aside, my question was about user input having more of an impact in general gameplay as opposed to simulation aspects kicking in
The Show 100% has stronger impact on a user input based scenario. Madden is almost purely RNG simulation.

Just stay away from Madden, especially if you love football.

Agree with this too. Haven't purchased Madden since 17.

You’ll never get a straight answer on here just look at the responses.
“The game is 100% RNG”
“The tournament winners run the ball every play and don’t let the CPU throw or catch animations decide anything”
Those are very different things, the same way people on here will tell you there is no issue with good/okays because they can make WS and win showdowns but a Top 50 player will tell you the game is terrible and them making WS doesn’t change that.

Madden is just as broken as the show is. Stretch run has been OP for two years now & still not fixed. The zone defense is a absolute joke. Like The Show - Offline is fun & plays well but online is a joke & nothing but one you tube play after another. It’s rare to just play a normal game against someone.
-
Madden's fine. Plays more straight up than MLBTS but, granted, they have a lot more areas to hide the DDA. Ultimately, if you like Madden offline, it plays essentially the same online just with more cheese plays (which is actually a benefit to you if you learn how to counter them).
I would highly recommend 2k, though. I'm not even a basketball fan and it's starting to take over the vast majority of my gaming time. Gameplay is simply fantastic.

Football is not game of failure like baseball, hard to compare the two. Lineouts happen in real life. Would they have to reward every good-good and above a hit for it to be a competitive mode and avoid RNG? The pci would be smaller for the ball for that to happen and keep the score under 50 runs.
-
No [censored] way. I love football but when it comes to these two games The Show is actually far more playable. In Madden it's literally the same one or two plays being ran because the AI is [censored] and can't stop them. It's absolute cancer online, but with The Show you can compete without being cheesy and running the meta nonstop. I actually enjoy playing RS, I haven't touched Madden in months.

One thing I will give Madden Ultimate Team props on is Solo Battles...You can earn massive coins each week playing vs the cpu and never have to play an online game to earn every card in the game. I hope The Show will get there one day.

people that think the show is terrible havent played madden

Long time 2K player - no. It’s horrific. Shaq shooting 3s and worst content of any sports title.

After playing madden the last 2 years I gotta disagree. Yes the solo battles were an easy 100k a week but that wasn't getting you a top end team, especially early in the game. Training points and lousier pack pulls than this game were the main reason. I just remember the Brian Dawkins topper going for over 500k (and over 800 for the full legend).
That said, they had nice house rules early and it wasn't terribly hard to field a solid squad if you were up to the grind. If you spent an extra $100 on points for the level packs you were in even better shape.
In the end I just got bored of the lack of hr/content, plus the servers here are so much better.
The show is a tier higher than Madden
-
If you think moments in The Show are bad then solos in Madden will make you lose your mind.
- Training points are terrible
- Power ups are terrible
- The abilities/X-factors are terrible
- Game play is basically go YouTube ways to exploit AI and do it endlessly to try and win
- Weekend league is pure torture. They want you to play 25 games in like 84 hours.
- Their season mode is super boring
- House rules were the saving grace but they made them absolutely miserable with number of wins needed and nerfing rewards and they didn't even have HR consistently
Basically if they have something good in the game where the consumer benefits, they will find a way to eliminate that opportunity to make coins/have fun.
I just can't really say enough bad things about Madden
-
Madden has worse gameplay, but they have a better market and better collections and sets.
-
Madden competitive modes have become who knows the best exploits and everybody ends up running the same overpowered plays against each other. Mut mode has gotten less skill based and more based on what X-factors and abilities you equip and what you tube play you run over and over. Matchmaking in Madden is a joke. The top 100 in MUT on PS4 is basically 75% players who run 4 or less plays per game. The guy who just won the championship never passed once in the entire tournament... that's pathetic that you can win like that. I like football better, but Madden is getting worse and worse almost to the point of hanging it up soon after playing every year for 20+ years. I am very good at Madden, but it just gets old seeing the same plays over and over all year. I'm not very good at the show, but the change of pace and scenery is nice.

User input is on a whole different level bc you can take control of any player that you want and create all sorts of plays.
Disagree. You have 10 other players being controlled by the CPU at all times. Making blocks, blowing coverage, ect. In The Show you're always in control of 1 player while at most 2 other players are actively involved in a play. Hitting is always 1v1. In Madden every play is CPU vs CPU x10 and human vs human 1v1. Madden is a literal RNG based game, far more so than The Show in which it only majority affects hitting outcomes.
If you dont know what route combinations will manipulate coverages or what adjustments to make on defense that stop someone from running the same "play" 50x then you will be screwed for the most part in madden.
This year was a bit of an odd year in madden thanks to the run and send everyone meta but the above still remain the more important aspects to being decent at madden for most years.
-
constantly comparing a bad game like The Show to an unrelated, bad game is peak 'whataboutism'. and it only distracts from the issues The Show has had for years that people are trying to highlight.
stop talking about Madden and focus on the endless ways The Show has gone downhill since 17.
