99s Coming in 5th Inning
-
You guys are naming off such good players. Following future stars, and 4th inning bosses, I expect it to be someone not even close to worthy of a 99. Mark Whiten, Milton Bradley, Kent Tekulve, Jaime Navarro or even Jose Lind.
-
Knowing SDS, one of them will be Spencer Torkelson.

Actually Jim Thome makes a lot of sense for a few reasons, he's the only player not in MLB the show 20 that is a part of the 2018 hall of fame plus we havn't had a first base boss since Todd Helton in the first inning.
This might be right. I saw something on twitter than Jim Thome’s batting stance was added to the game.

You haven’t heard? Spider-Man is gonna be in the game. He’ll probably be a henchman though, no way is the Tobey Maguire version a 99.
-
99 Hoyt Wilhelm, a knuckleball relief pitcher with control and stamina.
-
My first thought was Carl Yastrzemski. Worthy of a 99, for sure, but at the same time he’s not such an enormous Aaron/Clemente/DiMaggio type name that they would have been promoting him for months.
Thome would be cool too.
-
SDS has a solid track record of disappointing us. So think in that direction.
-
back in the show 2010 they had the rights to use dimaggio, spahn, Tris Speaker, Honus and a lot of other that are not in the game any longer or some that just recently came back into the game. Take a look at some of the names. Some of them would be great to have in the game like Satchel
-
Lincecum or we riot!
I mean peaceful protest, of course.

With the 90-00s theme we seem to be getting, I could definitely see Larry Walker. Maybe Sammy Sosa, Ryan Howard, Jeff Kent?
I know I'm biased, but Kent would be great
-
Too bad we'll never see a 99 Pete Rose...

What new legend is good enough to be a 99 but not good enough to be announced pre-release for marketing purposes? I can’t really think of any at this point
David Ortiz. My guess is they only mean new legend for the program.
They said new hidden legend meaning someone who hasn’t been revealed yet
O well that is interesting, Manny Ramirez? Randy Johnson? Exciting.
God, I've been dying for a Randy Johnson SS card to drop!!
-
I think it will be an older legend because even though older players (like Honus) may be better than more recent players that were marketed, they won't have as large of an appeal to the market. Maybe Hank Greenberg, Dizzy Dean, someone like that? They added Lefty Grove midyear last year.
-
Mariano, Ortiz or Frank Thomas annndddd Albert Belle
-
Going to be “Sweet” Lou Whitaker, Hank Greenberg, Charlie Gehringer, Mickey Cochrane, or Sam Crawford.
Tiger fan can dream.

Rose would be so boring in this game.
Little power, not particularly fast, not a good fielder..
His strengths are all things that don't show in a video game.
