Has anyone notice the basic fundamentals of baseball are just wrong in this game. Had a play where my opponent had a man on first and he singled to centerfield. My 2B and SS went out to do the cutoff and trailer towards third base. It was a single straight at my center fielder. No need for double cutoff. Of course, the runner took a big turn and I had no chance to gun him at second when he was returning to the bag because I had no one covering the bag.
Then I had this happening. Lead off triple by boggio. Next hitter just a grounder to third and he automatically runs. Unless there’s a double play risk, which there wasn’t, he shouldn’t have run.
Base running is something they need to fix! Most people talk about good okays but base running is a huge problem as well!
They probably need to build the whole engine from the ground.

It's not that bad but there are multiple things they can fix

Wait do you hit without a PCI?

I like when I have a guy on second and there's a slow to avg speed grounder hit to short or third and the runner immediately dives back into second base... I can understand a hot shot liner that ends up one hopping, but an obvious clear ground ball?

This is the main problem this year. Basic things that should happen don’t and crazy outlier events that would rarely, if ever, be seen in baseball occur with high frequency.
-
yes base running has always been bad, but I fear it's getting worse. I played one game today. I hit three doubles, all three times the guy kept running to third. I've had that issue maybe two times all year before today. Still won, but it's about as frustrating as it can get.

A lot of people do. This year, pure analog is actually more consistent than good PCI placement. As we've seen, PCI placement has no actual impact on the game, thus you have to find what gives you the best results.

Love to hit good okays with no pci. Helps me see pitches better.

This just confirms what we’ve all been saying.

Don't they advertise a new engine every year?

The AI system is laughable. I remember someone posting about their AI in the game during the beta and one of the MODs said they would add it to their list. Guess it never made the cut.

someone having a similar opinion as you do (me), does not confirm what you're saying, it simply confirms that someone else feels the same way. Weird comment.

Do you mean with 2 outs? cause with less than 2 outs he should go back cause he's be a dead duck at 3rd.
What I'd like to see is runners just going into the base(or back to) and only sliding if there is a throw to the base, and just go standing any other time.

I mean they are literally diving back into the bag before the fielder has even fielded the ball. I'm ok with retreating or I don't know stand there and wait and see. Sometimes the ball makes it through and I can't take third cause the dudes laying on his belly looking into right field

Well, if that’s how you interpret it. I didn’t literally mean that you have the final say on the validity of the claims we all make. Yes, PCI placement isn’t really relevant this year. Glad you found a solution with analog.
