Now what?

I'm saving for a card that wows me. In the meantime I've bought cheaper guys I'll never use in anticipation of a Honus type collection. I also did exchanges to skip stage 1 of affinty
-
Save for cards that you want to upgrade your team? Lots of excellent pitchers out there like Britton, Dibble, and Glavine.
Upgrade your weak lineup spots or platoons. Miggy is an excellent platoon bat. He's probably been my best hitter (around .1300 OPS). Kemp looks interesting. I wouldn't spend 200k on a bench bat, but Zobrist is perfect for the role.
And yes, when the Honus type collection is released you can do that. I'm hoping for Hank Aaron or Randy Johnson.

I didn’t buy the flash sale packs, but I did take the opportunity to buy DeGrom and now I’ve finished the LS collection. I’ve got Mantle.
But now what? What do I buy now? Already back up to 45k in stubs after all the ones you get from locking those different cards in to different spots.
Sometimes these posts just kind of [censored] on a giant portion of the community. Not saying you are intentionally doing it. But some of us will never finish the collections since we have the absolute worst luck and will never pull any of the diamonds that go for 100k.
Just be happy you had good luck.

I’ve been finishing the TA affinities. I refuse to go back to stage 1 showdowns after stage 2. So I got every team to stage 2 and am now grinding showdowns to complete stage 2. Not sure when stage 3 drops but I’m sure there will be some players there you will want

What are affinity exchanges costing these days? What did you find was the best route?

I certainly didn’t mean to C R A P on anyone else. I know it isn’t easy. I dedicated myself to it and did it, somewhat, slowly. I really didn’t have great luck either. I pulled a decent amount of diamonds the first few weeks but almost nothing since.
I just tried to maximize my stubs the best way I could. I never kept anything I pulled. If it was sellable, I’d sell it. The only inning boss I kept was Helton since I’m a fan. If I pulled a diamond (I did pulled Cole once, that was my one big score), I would sell it and buy it back at a cheaper price. I sold everything except Helton. Then I systematically went about collecting, putting in the lowest orders I could that I felt would actually get me the card. Just tried to maximize as much as possible.
I did do some flipping here and there. Not a ton, but some. I found it so much more difficult to flip than last year and got caught on a couple that I lost stubs on. I did buy the $20 pack of stubs when I was close to finishing the AL and had one card left (Cole was my last one I needed after selling him much earlier. That bit me because didn’t think he’d keep going up and I paid about 50k more than I sold him for). And then I bought another $20 pack stubs tonight when DeGrom was the last guy I needed. I didn’t need to buy those stubs at those times, but I was impatient knowing I only needed one card each time and I was so close.
So, didn’t mean to come off bragging or putting anyone down. I known it’s not easy (and maybe not even worth it). But I just went about it with all my focus there and tried to maximize stubs. Now, I just honestly don’t know what approach to take after spending the past 2.5 months only focused on Mantle.

In all honesty probably the best bet is finish up the Team Affinity challenges

I know people hate this sentence BUT I finished Collections without spending money a couple of weeks ago. I don’t want to say it’s easy but it’s not the hardest either. You just have to be disciplined and stay focused on the goal. I grinded showdown for quite a bit, I only have about 10 teams done and that was enough to get the job done. You get so many stubs/players/packs from doing these affinities that it makes collections much easier. My advise would be to just sell everything, I sold everything I would get including event/inning rewards. My pack luck was decent as the best card I got was Lindor, so you don’t even have to have the greatest pack luck. Just be patient and resist buying packs as you will get plenty from affinities,

I think it's a matter of finding that challenge that drives you. For me its events I love them and fighting for those wins while building teams that likely dont include my best players. This then extends to RS I LOVE team builds then seeing what kind of damage I can do in RS. I find no better rush in this game pulling out a win with my all Phillies team vs a guys main squad.
For you maybe its finishing the remaining g collections like Prospects or the TA FoTF. With FoTF it's working the market to get the best deals to progress the exchanges cheaply.
Enjoy your day my dude!

Honestly. I would go to 79 overall and below in each team and buy 10-12 or everyone 72-79 that was priced well. I would spend 6k per 10 points I needed. Once I spent 18-24k depending on if I needed 30-40 points I stopped and played. I found that every single time I had 1) bought to many players, so I could sell back at minimum a break even but usually a profit, and 2) between stubs u get and TA packs u sometimes pulled a diamond or 2 to recoup your losses. I actually pulled Cole the other day, so that profit helped me finish all stage 1

I'd start collecting all the Legends & flashbacks for the collection that usually drops halfway through the season. Like the Honus collection from last year. Prices will for sure go up when it drops especially all the henchmen from previous programs
-
Hell that literally opens up everything else in the game that comes out. You don't have to hold on to stubs if you want to complete something or just buy a player on the market. Congrats

I'm shocked how many people have Mantle in this game. That is good marketing by SDS because most people that have Mantle are stub buyers. I'm NMS besides buying $20 worth of stubs once this year, never buying any again.

If you’ve spent $20, then that’s $20 less than I have, and I have finished it. It can be done without buying stubs. And, I didn’t pull any high diamonds except Cole early on and I actually lost stubs on him becuase I sold for 100 and didn’t think he’d go up. By time I bought him again, I paid like 150-160, I think.

You must have more time on your hands then. Congrats for being one of the rare ones that got Mantle without their credit card though!

I got Mantle 4 days ago and just maxed out TA’s today with NMS. Tried to time it together. The level 45 prestige free 90+ is what got me there. I dumped prob 300k+ stubs into TA exchanges (way to much) but I was getting burned out from playing showdown. Ready to finally go hard in RS next week when new season begins
