Hook slides?

How come you can’t hook slide anymore? Is this an example of SDS trying to fix something, and they inadvertently screw up the sliding?
-
I think in some situations if you move the thumbstick either left or right it might do something like a hook slide but not a clean one. Sliding has been very inconsistent with me but I’m sure it has been for everyone.

If your opponent has a user input perfect throw, with the new perfect throw meter, it doesn’t allow you to hook slide.

Is this why base stealers go feet first and get thrown out when they'd be easily safe on a head first slide?

Shoot, they look safe on feet first too. The dummies pick the foot off the bag and don’t touch it until their foot is on the back of it

I think the math determines if the runner is safe or out. The animation doesn’t seem to matter.

Yes, they made a minor change to the sliding commands this year. Just hold down L1 and tap the right analog stick to the direction you desire to perform a specific slide.
-
Can you do that without “advancing all”?
