Has anybody beat the Keith Hernamdez challenge?
-
I got mine from outfielders diving and missing balls in front of them. Took me a couple hours but luck finally went my way
-
I got it done but it was a PAIN lost count it took so many times to complete.

On the subject of that Hernandez card... the year that card is based on, it should've been higher than an 88. Dude won co-MVP that year and if you look at his numbers that season, that card should've been AT LEAST a 90 if not higher. Shouldn't have been a breakout card, should've been an awards MVP card.

If you need it for 300 I understand why you’d want to do it, but I’m not doing any of those time sinks if I don’t have to.

I needed 38 stars by the time the 3rd inning ended. I finished the Dawson one in 30 minutes, I've been stuck on Hermdandez for 3 days now. This is pathetic. Pretty boy has no pop.

I hit a couple of no-doubters with him, one with a normal swing, one with a power swing.
-
Just hit a double, got credited with a single. Missed by 1 run. At this point SDS should just give me Victorino for free.

That's shocking. I just Perfect-Perfect a fastball directly down the middle with a power swing. Loud crack of the bat. Caught at the track.

It's a crazy mission. Don't you have 5 games to get 11 hits with 3 of them being XBH? When I did finish it, I did it in 4 games. This was after about 50 tries if I remember correctly.
-
I was stuck on the 12 TB in 3 G moment.. took 75 tries. Not joking. I would try it a bunch, do something else and come back to it. I don't know why that worked, but I think there is some truth to the element of a new environment. What turned out to be my last attempt, I hit a perfect/perfect for a HR, a double and single. Holy [censored]! I had TB in the 1st game! Then I hit two more doubles in the 2nd game. 1st pitch meatball I used contact just for giggles and smashed a single to end it. I also struggled (for some reason) with the final Andrew Dawson moment, but then when I did it I crushed it. Does the game secretly mess with us haha?!

Just wondering if it's even possible. I need the 11 hits/3 xbh, and 12 total bases. 12 total bases seems completely impossible. I need to finish this to get 300 3rd inning stars.
I assume you're a Zone hitter?
If so, I've noticed this: First pitcher, Matz, throws a majority of low pitches. Just sit your PCI low in the Zone.
Second pitcher, Freeland, likes to start off high and work his way inside.
Third is Gonsalves; who is a mix beywern 1 and two, but if you sit low, you can adjust.
Fourth, can't remember who, likes to throw low and away.
I got it done in 2 attempts. And that was by making it to the fourth pitcher needing 3 Hits and 1 XBH on one try and dashboarding if I didn't get it.
Also, just power awing until you get the 4 XBHs.

Yeah, zone hitting. I'll give it a try. Solid hits and contact haven't been my issue, Hernandez having the power of a little leaguer is making it impossible. I cant believe you got it done in 2 tries

It was pure luck.

Yeah, I have that one and 12 total bases in 3 games. Both are on veteran, you'd think they were made to be easy. They perfectly frame the issues with hitting in this baseball game.
I'm a grind player, so once these are done I get Victorino. Grinders shouldn't be punished like this. He will make my team competitive in ranked seasons.
-
Actually I messed up. Got the Hernandez Program mixed up with the last Zimmerman POTM moment.
That's the one I completed in two tries

It took a good amount of time, but yeah, it is doable.
Same here. Mash that square button!
