Hard to label a Hall of Famer as obscure.

Unless you've heard of his insane life story and absolutely incredible antics on the field (like chasing fire trucks and fighting fans) then he's incredibly obscure. Hardly ever talked about even though he was better than Cy Young when he wasn't fighting his teammates or drinking the fans' beers

If you want a good laugh and have an hour, this is the funniest podcast I've ever heard about Rube Waddell's life

I dont know much of any of that, I only know him as a HOF pitcher. It's why I mentioned him not being obscure. I will have to check into that stuff though, sounds wild.

I agree it's was an anomaly of a year for him but he's not a obscure name.

Vaughn was a monster and in no way an obscure name. 1996 may not have even been his best year. I argue that 1998 was his best year. 335 batting average, 40 homeruns,115 rbis in 7 less games then 1996. I agree on wanting a card for him though.
