Hitting struggles

2 months in, and I just can’t seem to put several good hitting games in a row together. I’m consistently last in every hitting category in my league. I know I have to have more patience at the plate but as far as the pci goes Do you guys that are good at hitting have a gameplan /approach or do you just see/pick up the pitches well and go hit it?

I’m really not very good at this game, but this has helped me enormously: someone recently posted about resting your thumb completely on top of the thumb stick so you’re sort of rotating your thumb to move the pci. After reading that, I realized I had been resting my thumb along the bottom edge of the stick, so I was having to “push” up or “pull” down and it was really hard to accurately reach all corners. It was especially hard to make corrections (ex: if I pushed up and then realized it’s a big 12-6 curve it would be really hard to stop and pull the stick back down).
I may not be explaining this well, but it’s helped me. It’s taken some time to relearn how to move the stick but it’s definitely making a difference.
EDIT: also, I have started positioning myself so my left thumb is perfectly lined up with the starting position of the pci. Before I was a little off center so I could lean on the couch armrest, but this has made it a little easier for my brain to track exactly where to put the pci without having to adjust for my off center POV

I might try this too. I rest my thumb on the top but more on the bottom edge. Thanks for the tip or at least passing on the tip. Always looking to get better.

First part of your post I will definitely try. Don’t really understand the second part though .

If you have an extra $20 I would buy a set of Kontrol Freaks. Also if it makes sense bend your left thumb into a right angle then put your thumb straight down on top of the left stick. This will help minimize your movements and give you more control.
