Did SDS do a major overall on game mechanics?

Why isn't Mike Trout putting his glove up for a pop fly? Why is Shane Victorino not putting his glove DOWN for balls rolling right to him.
Why do my swim moves on slides no longer swim how they used to? Why do they always just go feet or head first, without going left/right of the bag?
Why am I an 1100 player in each of the last 3 years, but can't break 800 now? Why have I supported this game for 15 years only for this year to be the trashiest it's been since I can remember?
What incentive do I have to continue to support this game? It's unplayable in DD right now, and if I wanted a franchise sim there's plenty of cheaper options.

Haven’t had any issues with fielding since the last patch, and I’ve never seen/heard of anybody having issues sliding.

Yeah I have issues Every. Single. Game.
I know that sounds hyperbolic. It really isn't. I can guarantee you one of my outfielders will either let a fly ball land right next to / in front of them after they've been sitting under it for an hour or so, or there will be a grounder through the infield, and then through the outfield because my fielder will make no effort to bend down and pick it up.
I've had issues getting my baserunners to slide this entire year. They will not slide left/right of the bag anymore

OP, I completely agree with you. Especially RS, and it’s an absolute joke of a mode right now.

I have issues every game i play. I have had jammed late fly balls to my outfielders, they are standing under the ball and decide to get locked into playing the ball off the hop. that has happened twice in the same inning to me in 4 or 5 RS games this weekend. Not to mention all the good okay in the middle of the PCI, Early okay hrs, perfect perfect homeruns on fastballs above the shoulders, outfielders not putting their glove down to get a grounder, good released pitches going middle middle and [censored] base running (runners standing still on line drives with 2 outs) this is Ranked not so many issues in other modes weird.

I've said it about a hundred times around here, but if you go watch the pre release dev tourney or ANY streams from week 1 early release you'll see that we're not playing the same game. The hit varieties during pre release we're great compared to what you see now.
My question is why change everything just 2 days after national release? Was that the plan the whole time. Have great reviews from pre release then pull the rug out from under everybody. Hitting had never been greater.
I would hate to create something over 8 or 9 months like these devs did at release and then change it all just like that.

You have to hold the stick to the left or right for the hook slide. Works everytime.

@D_e_m_I_s_E I do have fiber, and PS4 Pro, and a BenQ gaming monitor. I'm hardwired into the fiber. This game is all I play on the PS4 but I do everything I can to make sure that when a negative result happens, it's my fault and not my techs.

My CAP is a LF with 99 speed and 94 fielding. He had a liner bounce right off his chest yesterday - opponent didn’t even score, his runner was running back to 3rd in anticipation of the routine catch.

You can control PS and SDS connection issues. I have 100+ mbs up and down with 3ms ping. Sometimes I check my speeds through network in settings and i get 30 down and 3 up(just an estimate/ it fluctuates when they are overloaded)

I had the same problem two times now, the first time I deleted my saved game settings and it worked for a little while. The second time I deleted the whole game and reinstalled it and it’s been fine since for that issue. I then had my catcher meter no longer showing up on stolen base attempts. I then deleted and went back to the same settings and that fixed it as well. Do what I did and it will fix your problem. Even though we’ve never had to do this in any year of the game.
