Lineup Advice: Heavy with Lefties
-
No matter what I do with my lineup, I always find myself with too many lefties. I've tried to intentionally balance it out, but I keep having to use hitters that I'm not good with.
This is my current lineup:
1.) C - Biggio
2.) LF - Marsh
3.) CF - Trout
4.) RF - Reggie
5.) 3B - Chipper
6.) 1B - McCovey/Giambi
7.) SS - CAP
8.) 2B - Sandberg
9.) P - Pitcher spotBench:
Yelich
Didi
Brujan
Giambi/McCovey
GleyberThis is the lineup that I forced to balance itself out. I'm better with Yelich and Didi but feel like I shouldn't play them for fear of bad matchups. Any advice on good righty or switch bats for my lineup or bench would be greatly appreciated. I should mention in my lineup that Marsh and Trout are staying no matter what because I mash with them.

You have 3 lefties and 3 righties. Seems pretty balanced to me.
I wouldn’t worry about match ups. If you mash with a guy, you mash with him. No sense in using someone inferior just to achieve balance.
-
I feel like that too but I put Hanley in for Didi and I don’t regret it.
-
Yeah I mean, if you hit right on right ok, or left on left ok, it’s not that big a deal. I try to have left/right balance too, but ultimately I have to play cards I can actually hit with.

This is the balanced one that I struggle with, I'm looking for replacements for mainly sandberg/bench bats

Gotcha. Well if you put Didi at second it would still be pretty balanced. You could even get FOTF Albies and platoon them. Also McGriff and Molitor kill righties and lefties respectively, if you’ve got the stubs.

Gorman is probably better than both of them and can play first base well.

To echo your response, I haven't seen much ppl use him yet in my RS games, but McGriff has started for me this week and he's been an absolute stud.

Yes Gorman is a beast vs righties or lefties. A bit of a grind though depending on how far along your Cardinals affinity is.

True. I grinded them from 3 to 120 with showdowns cause his card looked good.

Same. I had no interest in the Yadi.

I have the opposite problem which I’m sure most do as well. The three collection masters are both right and one switch. The 100 star master players 4 are right handed. So it’s hard to find a spot for any leftist beyond mr October

Why not do this. Still doesn’t help with yelixh but you get didi and it’s still pretty balanced

How well do you hit with Gary Sanchez? Either Gold or his POTM card? Keeps a righty in your lineup and you can move Biggio back to second if your not a fan of Ryno. He Crushes all for me which is why I ask. It's hard for me to leave even his gold out of my lineup. Also, FOTF Santana plays a decent C and is Switch.
