Card flipping 101

What's the best way to successfully buy a higher priced card that has a lot of people bidding on it? Do you start as low as possible and work your way up, or do you just figure out the highest amount you're willing to pay and jump straight to that amount?

I've never been able to really get card flipping down until this year. I played franchise and road to the show all last year. In '18 I worked the exchanges. This year I tried my luck with card Flipping and have had a lot of success. I see a lot of people on here asking advice and others not wanting to give up secrets.
My advice, there is no real secret. Just pay attention to the market, watch the margins, and be patient. Its pretty simple when you get it going. Just takes some time to build up a bank.
Best of luck to you all. What's the best way to successfully buy a higher priced card that has a lot of people bidding on it? Do you start as low as possible and work your way up, or do you just figure out the highest amount you're willing to pay and jump straight to that amount?

I normally go up by 5/10 stubs stub each time but you could go up by more if you feel like it. In the end you can do what you want but I wouldn't waste my stubs putting the number too high be careful not to go over the sell number because then your just losing stubs, unless of course you want the card right away and don't care about your stub count that is.
My best advice is just watch the market and see what's happening. Patience is always key when it comes to the market. On Diamond cards you might have to wait some time before you get them.

It all depends whats more important to you? Do you just want the card and aren't too concerned with the price? Or do you just have a set price?
Personally on higher priced cards I might put the buy amount up a ways if I really want it but don't want to pay the full buy now price. On the other hand if I don't want to pay more than X amount I'll put in the buy order at night and see if it goes through overnight.

I find a card that has margins I like and is selling at a decent enough rate. But then I get to flip about once or twice before other people are in on it and the margin is gone.

It seems like the most efficient way to do it would be to decide on a profit margin you're happy with, make a bid at that amount and if someone outbids you just move on to something else. You may get a little less profit on each sale, but if a card is a bad investment then I'd rather know after a few minutes instead of wasting an hour bidding back and forth before I figure it out.
I'm pretty much a newbie at this though, so I could be wrong. In the past I've always stuck to flipping live series golds, which usually move pretty fast but at such low margins that it takes forever to get anywhere.

Better method is to buy in bulk and resell later. It's how I already have Mantle. 30 Jasom Kendal for 1k, 120 Machado for 380, 50 Shattered Glass Bats for 1600, ect.

Does flipping equipment actually work pretty well? I always see really big margins there, but I've stayed away from it because I assumed that most players are focused on cards and I'd be waiting days to sell anything else.

There are lots of stubbs in bulk orders with some cards. I've seen plenty of cards with 30-50 orders. I feel like it takes too long to clear them so I usually spread it out over a few cards.

Yeah I usually only ever listed 5-10 at a time.
