I agree with you there haha. High spin/high spin efficiency 4s fastballs seem to be more valuable because they generate more swing and miss. Stinks that isn’t the case in the game.

I just have trouble believing almost every starting pitcher prospect throws a sinker now.

They don't but SDS realizes that A) the arent able to fix the timing window so every pithcer that throws hard is going to have a sinker B) that a sinker is the closest form of movement for pitchers that have lively fastballs

Well... your KEYWORD OR LETTER IS A singular. Not EVERY (or a high percentage) pitcher in MLB has a sinker ya know

I would rather face a sinkerballer than a 4 seam guy because in my experience, people tend to vary their 4 seam locations more than they do sinker locations. I also hit low pitches much better than high pitches so I don't mind hitting against someone that throws a ton of sinkers. Obviously Kluber is still hard to hit, but I think that's much more because of the /9s than the sinker

The sinker is actually a really common pitch. It's just a modified 2 seam. To throw it properly is a natural arm motion (pronation), so it is less stress on the elbow/shoulder. Its is becoming as common as a curveball, or change up.
So.....yes. Most of the young pitchers have been taught to utilize the sinker, because of arm strain/effectiveness. -

You can blame sds but also have to pit part blame ln the community. I mean watch your favorite youtubers or streamers when a new pitcher comes out. If they don't have a sinker they almost always dismiss that pitcher but if they do, the first thing you here is how "filthy" the card will be.

We aren't talking Joe Shmoe sitting on his coach, we are talking MLB players...
...and yes you can learn to throw a sinker. Even with mechanics and arm slot pitchers adjust those as they develop. Even veterans change their arm slot and revive their career like Jason Vargas did several years ago.
