There are still people playing ranked in 17. I jumped into a couple of games over the weekend and I didn’t have to wait too long for a matchup. There will definitely be people that stick with 19 the whole year, and I’ll be one of them since I have no interest in grinding everything out again this year.

This year my plan is to try to run through my PS4 backlog before the PS5 comes out while playing 19 every once in a while. When PS4 came back I never went back to play a bunch of unopened PS3 games I had, and I know the same thing would probably happen again if I were to jump into MLB 2020.

Hopefully Mantle and Rivera will still be in 2021 because I’ll be pissed if I miss out on using them.

You can just wait until the game goes on sale half way though the year or get it for free toward the end of the year if they continue to do that.

I would download it for free if it went on PS+ again (I doubt it would), but I have a bit of a completionist mentality when it comes to diamond dynasty. I’m currently 6 market cards away from having all of them in 19 even though I’ll never use more than half of them. If I picked up the game late, I probably wouldn’t leave the house for weeks trying to catch up lol

Oh I see. I highly doubt cross play will work between past gen and current gen consoles. It’s possible, but I’d say not likely. And no, it wasn’t like that for PS3 and os4 or xbox 360 and Xbox one.

Here's the perfect future for The Show going forward, its good they're making it for other consoles and more importantly they should make it for the PC. With PC we can mod the hell out of it, put proper ads on the stadiums, create all Minor League and Spring Training stadiums, support for Ultrawide Resolutions...I'm at a point with gaming that I wouldn't even touch 16:9 unless I have no other choice, The Show 2019 and 2020 being that exception. Once you start playing 21:9 games 16:9 seems so cluttered and claustrophobic....almost like going back to 4:3. As for the original poster wanting better commentary, holly [censored], commentary in sporting games is the dumbest thing ever, its not needed and its a big distraction. Instead use that money you would pay Matt, Dan, and Mark and use it to hire more people to polish the game better. Like give us more options such as getting rid of the [censored] homerun cam!! We've complained about it the past 3 years and it still hasn't been done for 2020. Allow the option to turn off Heidi interpreting my game every 3 innings, I'm here to play baseball not watch a baseball game and please bring back the Stride Timing in Pure Analog Stride. Okay that's my 2 cents, carry on :).

I sold all my cards and uninstalled 19 last night. 4.5 million stubs just sitting there for nothing

Dude, I'm not a casual, I haven't played on All-Star since the first year I started playing The Show back in 2011. Now when I get the game I instantly put the settings at Legend and Pitch Speeds to 10 and start practicing for maybe a week to get a baseline for Sliders. Then I start Spring Training, playing every pitch..none of that Quick Pitch business while I refine my Sliders throughout Spring Training so when Opening day begins I'm satisfied with the level I'm at and my Slider.

PS4 hits 60hz max. I too have a 144hz gaming monitor, but when i use it for console gaming it is a 60hz monitor. That is all it can be. The input lag is over 100% what it is when I game at 144hz. Around 9.1 at 60hz compared to an incredible 4.1 at 144hz. That is just what we have to deal with until hopefully the next gen consoles come out. But it doesnt matter what your Monitor is capable of if the hardware and software hooked up to it cannot use it.
But pretty much anything will be good for flipping cards.

A monitor is a significant difference in input lag and refresh rate from a TV. There are comparisons online you can watch. The best TV In game mode is way behind a monitor.

On one hand you are right. It’s not reaching the monitors full capability but it’s not a wash by any stretch.

I wasnt comparing a monitor to a TV. I was comparing a 144hz monitor to a 60hz monitor for console gaming. And as far as input lag goes, if you get a newer model TV monitor, as they use essential the same panels as computer monitors now. Plus most newer models do 120hz as well. Put it in game mode, which takes off most the TV enhancement stuff, they have very competitive Input lags to computer monitors now. So much so that the difference is negligible. In fact I always used a Computer monitor for console gaming until this past year. When I got my Samsung QLED TV. Now the difference is so small it isnt noticeable. I still use my computer monitor for PC gaming though as I can take advantage of the refresh rate. Also response times and input lag are not the same thing.

A QLED TV has a 15 ms response time in its game mode. even at 144hz that effects the view of the ball coming in for this game specifically. I notice a huge difference. Being that your ps4 only goes up to 60hz you can double that because your Hz effects your response time

I’ve played on a regular 11 ms monitor. I’ve played on a TV on gaming setting and I’ve played on a asus 1ms ... the difference is very noticeable from the TV. And slightly noticeable (more so with the pitching meter) on the asus. It’s different.

Stop swapping the term response time for input lag. If you can’t even get that right I’m not sure how many people are going to take your input seriously. The bottom line is that monitors and many new tv’s are very close when it comes to input lag specs. You thinking you could tell a 5ms difference is laughable.

So it appears my playstation is a bit too enthusiastic then 😛

If I had too choose a legend instead of Yelich as my biggest homerun threat I would pick Hank Aaron.

The only version that will have 99 speed will probly be his rookie card. From what I remember he blew his knee out pretty early in his career playing next to Joe D by tripping on a sprinkler head or something like that.

I haven't poured through the Logo Database to see, but I'd be shocked if you couldn't find decently created uniforms for all the MLB teams. Just download whatever you want.

I like the anniversary edition with the hat. You’ll get 20 packs. 25k stubs. Another 5 k for preorder so that’s 30k. And then you always get about 10$ for the game when you trade it in for the next years. Then sell the hat for 15-10 and you’re looking at 20-25$ back on the 100$ one and then buy 25$ more stubs and end up with a lot
