Absolutely, and a loud Yes!

I read somewhere that it happens with rosters downloaded from vault before, I believe, April 30th. Try downloading a roster dated April 30th or May 1st.

@bigpelk93_psn said in Help: How to use Saved Roster in Franchise Mode?:
You can only create a franchise with a saved roster. You can not import a saved roster file into an already created franchise. That has never been an option
And you cannot import a player into an existing franchise.

If you have two players with the same last name, such as Smith, and one homers in a game, the box score lists just last name. Thus, you don't see which Smith hit it. Box scores in newspapers and online generally show first letter of first name to differentiate between the two Smiths. I think it would be nice for box score freaks like myself to have that applied in this game.

OK to assume playing just franchise against CPU doesn't require xbox Live Gold? Also, safe to assume not needed for downloading from community vaults?

@joshjays44_psn said in How do you like Casual Mode?:
They should just rename this to DD mode, that's where all the casual players play.
I don't think that's necessarily true. I imagine there are people who are new to the game, and people just looking for a quick game without much stress giving it a try. Also, just conjecture on my part, there may be other older/seniors such as myself (79 in August) not looking for a heart attack playing the mode. Age doesn't have to be the only reason, arthritis, cataracts, floaters, and other such issues may present a need for easy mode.
Now I'll put down my magnifying glass and stop typing.

Don’t feed the troll, he thinks padding stats against a predictable AI is being a good player. He’s been dodging challenges for years
I don't know about him, but I'll take on all challenges from people at least one year older than me.

Well not older than you, but I will be 59 in Sept. I will play you for fun
59? Yeah, I was that age 20 years ago. Go play for fun with someone else! I don't play for fun, I play to win!
Such a nice guy, yeah, he'll play me for fun. I could probably beat you, but I'm just too nice to do that.

No, it was for him. I just didn't want the poor lad to get his hopes up. I mean, if we go by past iterations, maybe around mid-summer we'll get a few attempts at Franchise fixes and most of them won't do a darn thing if not break something else. It's a shame because the game plays so well.
The thing is people cannot get rosters from the vault into a franchise! How silly is that! I don't know how one can say the game plays well when we can't start a franchise with SDS rosters because they are pretty bad. Attributes, pitch types, pitch speeds and potentials are what I find seriously lacking in realism. Now, if you're content with that, or feel they are realistic, good for you!
Ooooh boy. I mean the gameplay plays well. I'M AGREEING WITH YOU GUYS! But if you think this is at the top of SDS's to-do list, I think you're going to be disappointed.
The DD-bags can't finish their First Inning program due to all the server issues and the money's not coming in as was expected. I want to play Franchise too, but we're at the bottom of the list. The "Hey it's ya Boy" youtubers are getting fidgety and their bung-hole gets greased first. For ****s sake.
Ah, okay, we are on the same page.

I mean if you want to get technical he’s only had one season hitting .317...I like him and mean no disrespect, but him having such high contact stats in the first place were based more on popularity than actual production
You think that's bad, how about Dodger catcher Wil Smith and his 90 power? So he has more power than Tatis, Oh Yeah!
Funny you brought this up bc i was looking at his stats today and was confused as hell on how he got the stats he did, doesnt make a ton of sense
Here is another tidbit, they don't seem to update pitcher arm strength. Kershaw, for example, still has arm strength at 75--same as he's had for quite a few years. Now, we all know, or should know, he no longer throws as hard as in the past. I believe Verlander is another. Anyway, when it comes to pitch types, quite often they make stuff up. Kopech, for example, has never thrown a two-seam fastball in the majors--according to the best source for this stuff: brooksbaseball.net
dont even get me started on pitches. Seems like every pitcher that has a 2 seamer that moves a decent amount gets a sinker instead in game. even though those 2 pitches move so differently. some guys have a 99 mph sinker that has like 8-10 inches of break but they have never thrown a sinker irl
Okay, I'll lay off the pitches
Let's move on to Fielding ratings. Arozarena has some ridiculously low fielding rating when he's not only a very good fielder but also great reaction! Oh, there are more....
Fielding and speed ratings are so weird in some cases. theres no way francisco lindors speed should be in the 50s when babe ruth's 42 series card is a 55 speed and trea truners fielding stats should at least be in the 70s
Yup, that's another winner, Lindor's speed. Jose Ramirez is another underrated speed attribute.

Last night, I hit a screamer that bounced off the pitcher's foot into the air that the 1st baseman caught for an out. Gotta love that realism!
Nothing wrong with that, it happens. I can explain, he was wearing metal cleats! Yes, and even the shoe laces are made of...yes, you guessed it...metal.

I've had 3 Perfect foulballs in the last week
Now I feel better, thanks!
-
I've played this game for quite a few years, and I've seen some odd occurrences. Today I played a few games and for the first time with perfect timing hit a foul ball. It happened on a fastball that went foul and perfect timing.
The other weird one was Soto swinging normal on a slider up with perfect timing resulting in a ground ball double play.
The other interesting thing is hitting the pitcher in the behind and ball bounces all the way to third baseman. I don't know what these pitchers are hiding in their back pockets, but it must be something awfully hard.

Just had a Perfect Foul ball followed up by a perfect ground out to SS the very next pitch. That's fun lol
Yes, that pretty much happened to me. I hit two pitches, sliders up, with perfect timing and both were ground balls with last one being a double play.
