Your RTTS player is 65 without the Archetype, Perks and Gear.
However, when you play, the bonuses have effect.
As for the Archetype progress, I don't know. I have no problem getting progress in Play vs CPU mode.
Maybe if you grind a bit more. I don't know how they compare you against Cronenworth, maybe overall and potential is not everything.
Do you bat L or R? Can you do both? If yes, make your player a switch hitter, but make sure you can get hits both sides. That would definitely make you more valuable to the team.
