I play RTTS almost exclusively
Here's what I'd like to see: Get rid of the archtypes. They are initially too restricting, particularly if you play as a well rounded player. Archetypes may cap your starting OVR as low as 52. Additionally, if you select any Archetype that doesn't fit the pre determined mold for starting position, you are penalized. An example (player height & weight identical): Small Ball shortstop; 61 OVR, 2ND base; 60 OVR, 3rd base; 59 OVR. The game penalizes same build based on 25-35 foot positioning. Another change I'd like to see, let the user select both primary & secondary positions. Again, this is an archetype thing. Small Ball 3rd base & 2nd base are put in CF
(7 out of 7 different Toon's for me) If I wanted to play outfield, I'd have created an outfielder. Is the game really dictating that a small Ball type player that plays 3rd base is automatically not as good as either a SS or 2nd baseman? When game takes away your option of personal choice, why bother playing? Finally, an addition that would help a player develop their archetypes is have every conversation you have with press after getting POG honors (doesn't happen often on veteran & all star difficulty) give you the standard 4 choice answers to choose from. That last one is pretty much cosmetic, but still.

I'd like feedback on how to start a new post that would be off topic here. It'll be about really stupid coding for decision making by NPCs. Am only able to find existing posts, can't find site for new topics. Thanks!

Gmoney this is a really good idea. Particularly useful for players who prefer a solo game of RTTS. It would certainly allow for more continuos play, instead of just rolling a different time & starting from scratch. Another thought, while player is developing in the minor leagues would be award Archetype points (I hate the Archetypes, as they completely limit a players development) for all after game interviews. It doesn't happen often on the harder difficulty settings, but if a player is named "player of the game," have those fake interviews mean something. One more thing, not on topic. I would like to see the player be able to call out or influence really stupid decisions made in game by the managers. Extreme, but this just happened to me. I batted 1-3 for the entire AAA season. We won the division by 7.5 games. Playoffs started, and my toon that batted ,397 with a speed of 93 was slid down to 7th. The 1st 3 batters in lineup were called up from AA just for the playoffs. None had a speed above 64. Plus, the highest batting avg. (from AA) was .297. I'm a Mets fans, and not even the Mets are that stupid. We got swept in 1st round by a team we won 10 games against in regular season.

Hi all, Any idea how to "unsquad" (term used in marketplace) a bench player in DD? He's not in any lineups, he's just a bench player that sucks. I have MANY better cards I'd like on my DD bench. Thanks

Okay, 2nd day in row I'm posting a gripe about RTTS 20. Yesterday I complained about how the stealing attribute actually should be called good jump attribute. Today is something unique, but another example about coding causing things to be really difficult to complete. My clutch attribute was only 52 so In the strength & conditioning category I raised my cap to 57, and a teammate gave me a bro challenge that if I successfully drove in runners in scoring position x3 over next 3 games I'd raise my cap another 5 points. This toon is Pure Power, my speed is 38. I've batted in the 3, 4 or 5 position all season. The ga m e after accepting challenge, I'm moved to leadoff spot!!? WTF? Even though it's only guaranteed to be leadoff once during game, it removes an at bat. For the remainder of 1st game, at best there was a runner on 1st. No opportunities. 2nd game I pinch hit with nobody on base. So, I'm left to drive in runs x3 during final game. Keep in mind, if runners aren't initially on 2nd or 3rd, it won't count. Fail on every level, the game is set up so during challenges you occasionally never get the chance.

BTW, Toon not room

Okay, I love the Show 20, but like countless others I am really irritated by one or 2 issues. I started my toon with the Small Ball archetype (hate the archetypes model, that's a different post, though.) Trying to stay true to the Archetype I created, my focus has been on trying to get on base, and stealing. I've noticed and proven (to myself) that the game neither rewards you for a successful steal, nor penalizes you for getting caught. Rewards and penalties are given based on a good jump, or a bad jump. Ridiculous. I stole 9 bases successfully over 5 games, and my stealing attribute dropped by 2 points. So I did a little experiment. I got really good jumps (according to game) & was thrown out 3 of 4 times. Yet at end of game when you return to clubhouse, my stealing attribute increased. IMO it's fine if that's how the game is coded,, but re_lable the attribute to jump so gamers know what they need to do. Same complaint with bunting. Just because you lay down a bunt and either reach base or advance a runner, it only counts if the game's coding recognizes it. Just because Matt V. says: "he'll just put that in his pocket as he's in safely at first with a bunt hit" Makes it really hard to increase those skills also since the game doesn't care about the end results, only the mechanics you used for getting there.

I actually play RTTS 20 a lot. The only positions I HAVEN'T selected at start is RF and P, mostly because the Toon's arm sucks early on, & I want to play more than once every 5 game-calendar days Anyway, the OF positions seem to glitch more often than the IF. I have rage quit twice because late in a very close game, a fly ball that I am well positioned to catch lands right next to me allowing tying or winning runs to score. Sony stated they fixed that, however as of August 2 it still happened. The manager should instead say "We have needs elsewhere, what other position are you interested in trying out/learning?" At least give option of IF vs. OF or C.

The game makes zero sense at times. Bro challenge to get 6 hits over 3 games. Game only allows me 5 plate appearences (I went 4 for 5) because I pinch hit late in 1sy and 3rd games. I wasn't given opportunity to complete challenge. Just one of many flaws the coders should have fixed before launch.(If challenge then minimum # plate appearences) Learned this in 6th grade...

It's end of June and real baseball is still a few weeks away (we hope) so maybe these could apply towards The Show 21. Anyway, I agree with pogibana about a more RPG approach to RTTS. Also, we do need an agent that can influence things. They did a nice job letting you choose the organization you want to play for as a last result, but they should also let you specify AL or NL if you just want to experience the draft. Finally, the agent should have an ability to get you off a team. Since the MLBPA had to sign off on this, Sony should at least pay attention to contract rules. If a player chooses not to sign with draft team, it is a rule that the same team CAN NOT draft player the following year
Preparing for an extra year should solve this. It doesn't. I got drafted by Detroit Tigers 4 consecutive drafts with same room. WTF? Also, preparing an additional year DOES NOT improve your abilities
Once you have an A rating, preparing an extra year does absolutely nothing. I've rambled for too long, sorry.
What improvements do you want to see in RTTS for MLB The Show 21?
Is RTTS rigged?
