I should add that I am playing Diamond Dynasty games, a variety of modes within DD, when experiencing this. Also on Xbox Series S/X

But again, I want to point out what CDNMoneymaker93 said, the term "Grind 99" isn't about 99 overall - it's about the "price" being free (as in $Grind.99 instead of $1.99, $5.99, etc). They aren't promoting that you get all 99s from the grinding philosophy, it's about getting free, good cards (not the best but still good) from just playing the game.
There are lots of other ways to grind your way to the best cards in the game. I have admittedly played a lot, and I have made great investments - but I am NMS once again on MLB (outside of the charity packs) and have many of the best cards, all the collections, and 750k stubs sitting there right now.
-
A couple videos below from MLB 18 and MLB 17 respectively. In MLB 18, I think you could complete the missions without collecting the cards so it was kind of like renting the Monthly Award cards leading up to the lightning (but you could only get them from packs). And in MLB 17, you had to collect all the cards from packs to get the lightning reward
-
Not really sure why there are comments asking if it can "still be Grind 99" - nothing has really changed in terms of the availability of cards from the past. You still get 99s from grinding the Season XP reward path, potentially 99s from the extra bonus spins, plus you get a 99 from the Monthly Award program.
Speaking of the Monthly Award program, do you remember when the Monthly Award program actually cost stubs? You had to buy the 95, 97, etc. OVR players to collect everyone for the lightning reward. Now it's a grindable program.
And this new Future Stars program, it may not have an actual 99 at the end of it, so I can see the concern there. But if you equip the Tucker and Kopech captains, you actually have a whole lot of 99-type players (even using other Future Stars cards not in the program)

Not saying you're right or wrong here, but you have to provide some examples. A generic blanket statement like that isn't going to lead to any constructive feedback. Give some specific examples and there's a better chance of having your voice heard.

Just a quick thought, especially if someone from SDS reads this - is there any way to improve the Collection screens? It would be nice to have another filter or auto-select option for No-Sell cards - that way, we wouldn't have to scroll through 300+ cards to find specific cards we just bought, packed, or unlocked.
Or we could have an option to only show non-collected cards, and that way we could quickly look through the cards that light up as owned and decide that way. Either way, it is a bit cumbersome to have to scroll through 75 rows of cards and figure out which cards have yet to be locked in.

Yes. Bring in a 3 different relief pitchers in the later innings and pitch an inning without giving up the lead and it's a hold. So you can do all 3 in the same game 6th, 7th and 8th innings.
This, but you need to make sure the reliever enters in a save situation (3 run lead or tying run on deck). Essentially, a hold is the same as a save but without ending the game (and technically, a hold counts once you leave the game even if you strand a runner that later ties the game when you're out)

I see they haven't fixed the bug when you hit the 25k bonus. Just hit 700k, saw the circle fill up, but it didn't let me spin. The rewards definitely never went into my inventory. This happened at least twice in season one as well.
Did you exit out of the game and back into the Reward Path?
This...but usually for me, it takes force closing the game (dashboarding) and then re-loading and it'll take care of it. It usually happens for me when I hit the 25k goal while doing something outside of gameplay (like a program or collection reward)

I'm wondering if SDS made a mistake in what players are actually eligible for the new MA event? The Max Player OVR in the Event Info says 99 while the Max Team OVR is supposed to be 96. But it looks like the Max Player OVR is set to 96 as well since none of the 97-99 April MA cards are eligible, but the 95 OVR ones are (Estrada, Marsh, etc).
Can someone from SDS look into this?

At minimum, remove the defensive shift or give players the option to play straight up. Never fails at least once, I give up a dribbler away from a shift
You can turn auto-shifts off in the settings. I don't believe Moments would override that

If you're indecisive about who to take, it's probably best to open the pack and just select whoever is going for the most on the market and then buy back once you make a decision (and the prices come down).

It’s kind of ridiculous. To be able to keep up with stuff you have to treat it like a 2nd full time job. Oh and on top of all the content today you have one week to win 20 event games. Sure all this content is amazing and I’m appreciative that SDS gives almost of it for free basically but I don’t think it’s healthy to grind this much of a game.
This is a multi-part event. Your wins carry over for each part, and I believe there are 3 parts to this event. So likely it'll be 3 weeks to win the 20 event games

Yes, JT is a Phillies Team Captain for all Phillies. They switched up team captains for S2 - so all teams who had a hitting captain in S1 now have a pitching captain in S2 and vice versa.

Fubar2k7 has no idea what’s he’s talking about. Why was Tatis a FA when it started he resently got move to the collection after his suspension
Suspension has always been completely different than an injury. They have flat out removed some cards (Felipe Rivero/Vazquez) or stopped putting them in packs while moving them to FA (Trevor Bauer). Bauer was just a gold, I believe, but Vazquez was definitely a diamond.
They've never put a diamond in Free Agents because of injury - Chris Sale was on Boston's team all year last year, as was Verlander in Houston.

They have had an XP cap for a couple years now!
No they haven't. I have been playing this game for 10 years. Never once had an issue with xp cap. I play a lot every day.
Don't know how to break this to you, but just because YOU have never experienced it, it doesn't mean there's never been an XP cap. They have indeed had an XP cap, on XP earned from gameplay, for a number of years now.

The better statistic to use for comparing power really would be ISO since it only factors in XBH to the equation (it's SLG-AVG so that it eliminates singles from the Total Base calculation). To that end, Morgan does outpace Carew for their careers (.156 ISO for Morgan to .101 for Carew). Even though you're right that Power, in-game, mostly affects the ability to hit HR, it does impact the ability to hit for extra bases as well - so using something with all extra base hits is probably more appropriate than HR alone.
But to that end, we don't really know what SDS is looking at for the Charisma series since it's not associated with a particular season. Everyone has a different way of viewing the content that SDS puts out, but it's probably more enjoyable if we accept the content and enjoy it for what it's worth.
-
Despite fewer HR, Carew has a higher slugging percentage than Morgan for their careers. Since Power in The Show isn't just for HR, you could argue that it makes sense for Carew to have slightly better power. Although when you break the Slugging into vs RHP and vs LHP splits, it is Carew (.444/.396) vs Morgan (.446/.388).
Regardless, when you look at slugging percentage instead of just HR, it's reasonable that the two of them have very similar power - especially because we aren't sure what season(s) the Charisma series cards are based on.

They are Captains series and not MA or TN or Live. So that's why they're ineligible. It would make sense for them to be eligible for a Monthly Award event, but not with the Series restrictions in place.
Well atleast we know why.. Except they just changed it apparently and now the captains work to
Yeah, it would've been weird to run this event without allowing the captains that come out of its program.
