So I played a few games in franchise and noticed that the Braves sword chop celebration was replaced by that stupid bowl stir. This needs to be fixed as it is not the accurate Braves celebration gesture. Change it back to the sword chop.

It’s not a sword chop, it’s a tomahawk chop and it’s racist AF…hence why it was banned by MLB and removed from the game shortly after.

Some people don’t care for the super team DD grind garbage. I’m a Philadelphia sports fan. I play Madden with Eagles only, I play 2K with Sixers only, I play The Show with Phillies only and I play NHL with the Flyers. I like using my favorite team to beat other players head to head. I also get bored playing a CPU.

I’d much rather face a real person than a computer.

What they NEED to do is either make Online Rated one setting level for all or have multiple settings levels like rookie, vet, all star, HOF but then have their own individual rating list.

People playing on HOF, All Star etc shouldn’t be getting the same points as people playing on rookie mode with the best team in the game.

So is this what the losers/cheesers are doing now? Disconnecting their controller multiple times throughout the game while their losing, hoping you hit the “O” button (PS) so you quit the game and receive the loss?

I wish I could say I’m shocked but I’m not. Why would SD even offer that as an option? Why should other players get penalized because their opponents controller dies or gets shut off mid-game?

Haven’t played in over a week due to the birth of my son but just trying to get an online rated game in and when selecting my team (Phillies) and then pitcher each time that starting pitcher I select seems to be replacing JT Realmuto (starting catcher) in the lineup and JT isn’t even on the roster?

Anyone experiencing this with other teams? JT is not on nor has he been on any IL stints so I’m not sure why he’s not on the Online Rated roster with the latest game update and roster update.

So just tested this out and left the pitcher in the starting lineup and started a Online Rated game and it appears JT actually plays defensively as catcher but I put him in the lead off spot and Ranger Suarez (the SP) was batting lead off. So JT plays catcher but isn’t batting lmao how broken is this game? Seems like it gets worse and worse with every “update” they do…

I usually use buttons no meter. I know it's the easier method but I'm used to it. Played my first online rated game and Will Smith pulls Freddie Freeman off the bag twice on dropped third strike throws.

If they made this defensive option more prone to errors, I'm going to have to switch.

Is the meter harder this year? Do I just need to hit any part of the green or is middle best?

The meter is harder this year than years past, the green zone moves depending on your defender and how they are moving. I’ve always used meter and it took me a solid 2-3 ranked games to really get used to it. It’s hardest in the outfield when your defender is on the run.

I’ve never used buttons for throwing so idk how it compares but there is an adjustment period this year for meter.

Would be cool if they replaced it with the Williamsport little league game if that’s the case.

Vs has been weird for me cause i'm ~1600 but i'll run into total newbs on Vet. But if I drop to Rookie, I'm facing HOF-lite talent who paints the corner zones each pitch. Would like to see the mode get updated outside of the rosters too.

That’s because the “top” online rated players use Rookie/Rookie to beat up on people that’s how they score like 10+ runs a game and make people quit before the 5th inning most of the time.

Online rated won’t be competitive until they make it one setting across the board for all. I think it’s should be All Star hitting and pitching and no quick counts but that’s just me. Or make people select their settings prior to entering and just have different leaderboards. But none of this mix and match levels. You play everything on one setting and then you have that settings leaderboard.

They also play like 25 games a day which is wild to me lol I barely got time for 3-4.

Bryce Harper will officially be in the lineup as DH tomorrow night against LAD! Can’t wait to see him back in the game! Wonder what his stats will be?! Also will they give him an option to play 1B down the line? Haha

I love that it takes 20+ wins to jump 15 spots in the rankings but 3-5 losses drops you 50 spots on the leaderboard.

I’ve lost 4 games today alone after only having 20-ish losses all year since release. I’ve lost 6 games in the last 2 days with 4 today alone. I’ve went from top 100 today to 219 with a 145-29 record. That is insane.

Gotta live everyone jock riding the Padres too with that steroid abuser Tatis who somehow hits nukes on literally any pitch within the zone.

Might be my last year buying unless they revamp online rated.

Has hitting been nerfed by the last update? I didn’t play for a week and then did starting a couple days ago after the last update and now it feels like hitting has been completely bogged down. Anyone notice that or is it just me?

I’d say I’m pretty good at the game (around 150 games over .500 or something similar). I play 90% Online Ranked and whenever I run across a R2 spammer I’ve found my best counter strategy is to just slow my game down. If they are holding R2 every pitch they will eventually try and hit it right after you select your pitch but right before you start to throw it so what I do is I just wait it out, let them hit the R2 early then select your pitch and take your time to hit your location. It slows the game way down which sucks especially if you wanna play a few games in a row but they’ll eventually give up on the R2 spam once they realize you’re waiting for them.

The only issues I’ve run across with my strategy is some pitchers have a “wind up” motion that only happens after you select the pitch so basically if they figure that out you’re screwed. I have a feeling R2 will not be in MLBTS 23 though.

Can’t wait to only play the Padres, Dodgers and Yankees in online rated the rest of the year 🤮

I think it’s okay, feels way smoother than last years. Pitching seems the same, the new throwing meter takes some time to get used to, ran across one bunt cheeser so far but that doesn’t bother me. So far no freeze offs as well thank god.

I will say hitting seems way easier for some reason, not sure how it feels for everyone else but getting a lot more hard hits.

I do like the new ball trails and ball mechanics. It doesn’t feel as arcade like. Downfall to that is also now bad fielders have miss steps which seem to happen more often than not so you can’t get to balls as easy. I’m also using the Phillies so Schwarber and Casty aren’t exactly great defenders but still…any ball hit to the corner outfielders they “miss step” before adjusting their route to the ball which is annoying.

Lastly the new throwing meter takes some time like I said, especially for plays on the run as it constantly moves so you have to watch it and make sure you’re in the green or else that ball will sail 15 rows deep lol.

That’s about all I got for now…7-1 in online ranked so far.

In fairness I’ll never be able to play the volume of games these top players do.
