This is more of a skilled base game and isn't for the weak.
i've never been skilled but had a blast playing for 10 years. i specifically play on easy against the cpu because i look for the fun casual baseball game experience, which this game used to nail. but even playing on beginner which is boring as hell is still like swinging a wet newspaper sometimes with the random results you get when hitting
I just joined PS Plus a couple days ago and I need more friends. Looking to start a community of players which would consist of chats, tournaments? custom league? etc
You can expect good conversation regarding baseball, music, movies, TV, other sports (what are those?)
All skill levels welcome, the only requirement is you at least ACT like a grown up. That means there will be a zero tolerance policy (no exceptions) for any Homophobia, Xenophobia, Racism or anything which could make other players feel unwanted or uncomfortable.
About me:
31 years old, White Sox fan, I pretty much only use PS4 for Diamond Dynasty. Other Interests include music, playing guitar, and baseball trivia.
Tell your friends to tell their friends and let's get this rolling. Parties are fun
Ok so everyone here has been invited to the community if you are my friend. If not, accept friends or join the community.
The Supreme Order of Diamond Dynasty Warriors
Join the community, join the party, let’s play

Just a thought I had (that would maybe make people less frustrated) is to actually have them like Moments. You might fail but you can keep retrying them until you pass them? I know that will make them quite a bit easier. I don't know. Just a thought.
I agree, I would love to just keep trying until I get it, even if it takes 20 tries it's better than getting kicked out. because when you get kicked out you don't even want to try again
I'm not the greatest player of this game (current universal profile attributes below), I even quit '20 earlier this year and had to go back to '19 and learn how to play again or something. I'm at Silver XP level 66 and have been a casual player of mostly RTTS and Franchise over the past 10 years or so, since '09 Victorino originally shelled my pitching. This is the first year I've gotten into DD from the release of the game and tried somewhat to keep up.
That being said, I just finished the 3rd Inning Showdown with legit Zero problem and hardly any adversity. I went into the final showdown tied 15-15 with 20 outs to go.
The 1st Inning Showdown destroyed me, and was so brutally hard I did not get very far all of the times I attempted it. I have not attempted yet the 2nd Inning Showdown, because I already had my 300 points for that program by the time it ended.
I also pulled a diamond Baez and Bregman in the past like 7 days. I am on fire!
hitting difficulty 0/5

pitching difficulty 2/5

36 year old guitar playing whitesox fan here lol
There are dozens of us! Dozens!!! Gonna add you now
so, if you get timing that is "good" it uses a RNG to determine the success of the it? like "weak", "squared up", etc?
that's what it sure seems like right now. I can't time anything right, even on Rookie

Update: Max Scherzer is still a cheat code. With Trea Turner on first he threw 49 straight pitches without a slide step, then on the one pitch I touch L2 he throws a pitchout and I lose showdown
I just got really frustrated seeing this haha
step 1, stack up your 'territories' by claiming as many blank spaces during attack mode.
step 2, unless the missions/goals for the conquest mandate that you Steal fans, start button and skip to the next phase, which is reinforce your fans. The more territories you have claimed, the more reinforcements you have.
Step 3, simulate every game for every territory during the attack phase. Only play the games against the Stronghold. Futhermore, you can select the difficulty level you play the stronghold based on how many territories you have in relation to the stronghold you are playing. If they have 7 and you have 99, you can play them on Rookie, for example.
Have a great time, I love conquest because of how casual it can be.
i gave up on 20 and i'm back in 19. ball gets smacked around the way it should

You don’t go to McDonald’s and order your meal and then they take your money and then make it and are about to hand it to you and say “whooooops our fryers are down sorry you don’t get your food. But you should expect that because we just opened. You shouldn’t come here when we just opened and are having fryer problems jackass”
@jsauri said in Exploring my choices in franchise day 1 for the first time.:
I usually don't play my MLB team at all in Franchise mode. I GM the team and handle all the scouting and transactions and all that and sim all the games. I occasionally play individual prospects with Player Lock on, especially during all star appearances or playoffs. My main franchise is in the year 2055 and is a juggernaut -- almost all A potential players, winning the world series about once every three years just simming.
This year, I am also playing a 2020 franchise in real time in lieu of actual baseball.
Either way, I never compare to real world transactions. The whole fun for me is proving I can GM a team much better than the real world. I'm actually surprised I haven't received any offers from a real MLB team yet.
wow, I'm sure you'll get the call soon enough

Great thread and the Nationals 2019 team.
I'm a Cubs fan, ovi but this team was sooo much fun to watch.
I have to agree with this guy! I am a White Sox fan, so the 2005 team can't be beat for me, but I was absolutely captivated by the Nationals last year! And you couldn't pick a better opponent for them to send home beaten in the World Series...
I have only been able to beat the "Starter" showdown, which didn't seem that hard. For the 1st Inning Showdown, is it really this hard for everybody? It seems impossible. I have failed/gotten kicked out of the Showdown about 15 or so times now, no exaggeration.
I can't hit for anything. Pitched I guess perfectly and have the PCI indicator show up, I'm still so late on those that they are a foul to the opposite side every time. How can I be so late on pitches when I guessed them and knew they were coming? Why is it so hard to hit the ball?
Did something change for physics of the hitting or something? I've seen a lot of people complaining, but I have no idea if it was a 'patch' thing causing this, because it was impossible for me on 3/13 and it's impossible for me today 3/22.
100% a real life simulation is the way to go for baseball. that's why the Show is awesome, it's a fair simulation to actual baseball play. if you want to run up the score 21-0, you can do that, but fans of actual baseball might find that to actually be the boring aspect.
lofton white sox
griffey white sox
manny white sox
youkilis white sox

i feel like the fielding, pitching, and hitting is harder, but the show 20 is the best current baseball game available, yes
