    How do CAPs/Equipment work?
  • T TacoLabelle

    @Blacksharkpr said in How do CAPs/Equipment work?:

    In 19, RTTS is there a way to get speed cap increases besides equipments? I have a 3B, Rock Steady character in his 2nd year and he hasn't received any speed cap increases. I already had him maxed out in his first year.

    I'm pretty certain you can only increase CAP by training and some challenges.

    If you pause in game and bring up your player card you'll see your stats are boosted by equipment. So if your speed without equipment is 50 and equipment gives you +15 to speed, you'll have 65 speed, not 50.15.

    What if your CAP is 60? Does does equipment go beyond the cap?

    It doesnt make sense that equipment would only give you fraction of an attribute point. This would make equipment pointless and SDS would lose out on a ton of revenue from selling stubs.

    One of my RTTS guys has 91 speed (not including equipment) but the cap is 95 . I have a created player in a franchise with 99. There is a noticeable difference between the two.

    That said I think equipment only helps bring you to the cap.

    I'm pretty sure it's 80...

    That's what I thought. Would be nice to get more clarification because I would've developed my guy differently loading up on CAP before upgrading attributes and relying on equipment.

    For instance, if my CAP for speed is 65 and my attributes are maxed at 65 but I have +15 in equipment, am I still a 65 or an 80?

  • GM trading

    Playing 19. So I'm on the Blue Jays, I finally get called up after the Allstar game (first season) and Rising Superstars Bichette and Vladdy G have been traded in the division to The Rays and the Red Sox. Kimbrel is my closer ... what the heck kinda BS is this?

    Every now and then the game goes into show time and my guy never gets back in time (19). I must be doing something wrong.

    I have a couple times but I only play on Veteran.

  • How does importing from 19-20 affect facial Scans?
  • T TacoLabelle

    So I ended up upgrading to PS4 Pro after all and MLB 20 is on sale.

    I'm currently using a roster in 19 from the vault with all the minor league players.

    How will this affect players that have gotten facial scans/upgrades? Will only official Sony roster players get the upgrade if they even existed? Ie if they did some work on Harper in 20, will the save file of Harper in 19 look like the Harper in 20.

    Hopefully this makes sense.

    Ah k. I guess I'll stick to slim and my old TV for now.

    @vagimon said in PS4 Slim vs PS4 Pro:

    The game does 4k at 30fps or lower and can be choppy playing at that resolution. The game, I think, is meant to be played at 1080p at 60hz, which the me basic PS4 can do.

    Is that for online or offline as well? I only play offline.

    Not worth waiting a few months for a PS5??

    I really didnt enjoy the day one jump to PS4 so I won't follow suit with PS5. I blame EA for that mostly.

    More curious to see if a 4k setup and a Pro would tide me over until PS5 irons out it's inevitable kinks.

  • PS4 Slim vs PS4 Pro
  • T TacoLabelle

    Going to keep this on track since this is the MLB forum.

    I'm currently rocking the PS4 slim on an older (10yr old 1080p) TV. I get a lot of motion blur when batting but I'm not sure if this is normal.

    Anyway I'm think about upgrading to 4k and a PS4 Pro.

    Can anyone here definitively say whether the MLB experience is better/worth the upgrade?

    I heard Sony exclusives get additional love and I'm curious how much better the experience might be.

    Edit: Not getting a PS5 day one so...

  • Is 20 worth the upgrade?
  • T TacoLabelle

    I got 19 free a couple months ago on PS4 and am thinking about upgrading to 20 since my 19 RTTS is corrupt and have to restart.

    I really only RTTS and Franchise where I position lock so it's essentially RTTS with GM duties. That said do you think 20 is worth the full retail price for the upgrade?

  • Return reward?
  • T TacoLabelle

    I assume equipment doesnt carry over year to year but do you get a return reward pack or two?

    I have a glitch happening in my 19 version of RTTS so I might start over anyway but I'm curious if there's any form of loyalty rewards?

  • 19 ->20 import question

    @jhack9 said in 19 ->20 import question:

    If thats the case, then no there is nothing you can do to fix it. It will most likey carry over to 20' the way it is. Your only options are start anew or just go with what you are playing.

    I played the Rays the other day and we swept the 3 games series. He's not affecting the gameplay experience too much cause hes only an 83 overall but it just bothers me that hes crushing the leaderboards, allstar voting, awards ... not like they truly matter, just annoying.

  • 19 ->20 import question
  • T TacoLabelle

    Hey so I have MLB 19 and have grinded out 3 seasons. I used a custom roster found in the vault and noticed after the 2nd year there are 2 Shohei Ohtani's. One on the Angels as a pitcher and one (that looks custom made) as an outfielder on the Rays.

    For whatever reason there's a glitch where Ohtani on the Rays, his stats are doubled so he's winning all the awards. ie I have 32GP, 128AB ... he has 64GP, 256AB ... not the exact numbers but you get my drift ... when the Rays have only played 32 games.

    Is there a way to fix this?

    If I buy MLB 20 will this glitch continue? Do all the rosters and stats carry over as well as my career?
