Releases are out of control. On the one hand, kudos for all the content. On the other hand, the forced obsolescence of so many cards so quickly and the de facto "new meta" that will take place are bound to make RS frustratingly predictable.

I'd advocate a MUCH SLOWER progression of OVR's in the season. We should be in the low-mid 90's now, but the game is overflowing with 99 meta cards.

SDS is like an overindulgent parent feeding its children nothing but ice cream and candy. Of course the children will turn petulant instead of saying thank you...

I play on ps5. The cpu pitching is BROKEN. All I wanna do after I get home is grind a little on rookie or veteran and I can't. Every at-bat starts 3-0.

Then there's the Swtich version. Enough said.

Then there's the pinpoint glitch.

But when there's a RTTS exploit that affects the market? STOP EVERYTHING!!! SDS is on it immediately.

This is criminal. SDS should be ashamed of themselves. I am disgusted with this.

Up until this year, I played offline exclusively -- actually, tinkered with DD online last year after the game was dead. I thought that, as a long-time hater of online card-based microtransaction modes in sports games, I'd post my observations on my experience this year. I'm 47 and remember NCAA Football on the ps2's dynasty mode as the thing that made me fall in love with sports games. (Still the best soundtrack in sports games, btw...)

1. SDS does an amazing job of making ALL content available, realistically, to offline/noncompetitive players. I will never again compare them to EA in terms of trying to suck every nickel out of their fans.

2. There were WAY too many "99" cards, and WAY too many cards that almost nobody cared about. SDS needs to make many fewer god-tier cards and give players real weaknesses, up until the very end. It's the only way to ensure that team builds will be varied.

3. I hated outlier and would rather see it go. I'm 47, of course, so that's a big reason why. But for guys like me who never sniff WS in ranked, RS is a pure outlier fest. It's horrible. If it's not banned, then nerf its control, maybe?

4. TA seasons were bananas. So much good content and a blast to grind offline. Monthly Awards were also great -- real anticipation, and good grinds.

5. Parallel was a great idea, but it needs to be tweaked so that there's a reason to keep playing with superfractors. Like many, once I supered a guy, I wanted to move on to another one. But I really like the RPG-lite aspect of it.

6. The BR program is awesome, and I wish I had gotten into it sooner. The games play much better because nobody has a god squad. You have a chance to beat WS players in there, and the program ensures that middling players like me can still get rewards.

7. Sharks should be rightly pissed that there isn't really any rewards just for them -- for the players who are killers. I think SDS has bent over backwards for players like me, and now they should balance it back next year by bringing exclusive rewards for killer players -- going 12-0 in BR, making WS in RS.

8. I'm looking forward to having my life back now, and know that I can't do this again next year. It was fun, but I'll pick my spots next year -- TA seasons and MA, probably, with the occasional BR. Don't think I'll do ranked anymore.

9. SDS utterly disrespected franchise players and pretty much ruined RTTS. They need to fix this.

10. Finally, all those who cry RNG -- the game plays really well, and it's BECAUSE of that that the few times it doesn't (read: that realistic randomness occurs) seem so unjust or fake. Can't imagine trying to program baseball physics...

Release pack-only cards that are slightly or significantly better than the free reward cards from programs. Gatekeep stubs and nerf xp at the same time.

They can and will do this all year, until 99's are the free rewards. Or until the outcry is so loud -- or the metrics so bad -- that it's more profitable for them to abandon it.

It's disgusting.

I hope this year does real, long-term damage to SDS's reputation.

For me, they always stood apart from EA and 2K for at least seeming to try to balance respect for their customers with predatory monetization.

That was a lot of wurdz when we already know what's up: SDS is doing all it can to minimize flipping margins. They've also nerfed xp, capped xp on the daily, and made pack drops much more rare compared to previous years. This is all to incentivize buying stubs.

Broken game and increased focus on monetization. SDS [censored] sucks this year.

Read the actual strategy guide in-game. Rookie hitting is supposed to see MORE strikes, not fewer.

Plus hardly any are middle-middle. Rookie hitting should not be 8 balls every 10 pitches with the 2 strikes on the black/edges.

THE GAME SHOULD WORK. At all levels, regardless of how YOU like to play.

Whether you plowed through them or not, moments SUCK. If the purpose of the game is to enjoy it, moments make me hate MLBtS. They represent the emptiest, worst kind of grind.

And while I don't find them hard per se, I've been in many where the pitcher doesn't throw you anything. Or hits you in your last attempt. Those "moments" make me hate the game.

SDS doesn’t get nearly enough love for how much free, accessible, usable stuff they give away to online players.

Or how they’ve taken care of those who don’t play online so they can get most of those same things.

Or how even though there are micro transactions they don’t make them necessary to compete or even emphasize them.

So long as these stay true I’ll always buy the game on principle.

Because you can field a competitive team by just playing a good amount and not paying a cent. This game has a lot of rough edges. Being pay to play is NOT one of them.

Pfffff. Franchise UI is untouched, and more has been done to make MTO (God, I hate that acronym) have a more compelling offseason compared to franchise.

No, you will not. Most games I've played, from the 400's to the 800's, are K fests peppered with dingers from both players.

Plus many opponents don't pitch respectfully.

This is why offline franchise people are so pissed. We see the way the whole industry is going, and SDS is in fact following along, albeit more slowly and stealthily.

What you're saying is tantamount to, "I like that the game is now a training module teaching you not to swing."

1:50 chance every time you open a pack. Regardless if past bad luck. 98% chance not to pull a diamond every single time you open a pack. This is not BS. It is math.
