I’m 43 years old and have played sports titles specifically baseball since the mid 80’s. It crazy how far these games have come. Anyways grown up life got the best of me and have been out of gaming for 8 + years. The Show 12 was the last until this pandemic came about. No sports, no fantasy sports etc so after watching a few Twitch streams of Blake Snell playing The Show 20 I went out and purchased a PS4 along the The Show 20. I love the game! I can see how people can get hooked on Diamond Dynasty cards by making your lineup better. I’m obviously in the infancy of improving my squad and mainly a offline player. I’ve refrained from buying packs. As of now my team is only a 77 overall rating with I think bronze 79 Machado. I’ve been lurking on these forums for a while just reading all I can and watching YouTube tutorials. There’s so much content to take in with The Show 20. The April Ryan Zimmerman moment is giving me a real hassle. Struggling to hit the one HR. Sorry for the long post but thanks for all the posts on here to help people like me get better! Any suggestions on my best path or how to navigate it all? Thanks in advance.

I agree. As I’ve said in other threads I’m back into gaming after a long time off. Anyways,maybe I missed out on past player cards from previous Show titles but a Pedro Martinez,Mark McGwire,Sammy Sosa,Kirby Puckett,etc would be awesome! Overall it’s been great for The MLB Show team to release these special packs. Something to look forward to and great distraction!

Well,I went back to well for two more packs last night. I’m thankful for my luck as it’s been a grind building my DD team with limited gaming per day. Anyways I pulled a Acuna Diamond and Trevor Story Diamond in the same 20 pack bundle along with some really good cards to improve my roster. It’s noticeably helped my skill to hit. I will say that Chad Green gold 80 is pretty impressive in the bullpen. I hope some of your guy’s luck changes for the better.

I agree. I’m 43 and remember all these guys. Use to be big into card collecting as well. It’s unrealistic to release these future cards with 99 ratings. Kind of odd since Mike Trout will end his career and arguably will be one of the five greatest players of all-time. His card is only a 95 but JD Adell is a 99? Odd. However I do understand with no current MLB season The Show team has to be extra creative with their content. Definitely very appreciative of their work! I love sports and with very little on tv MLB The Show 20 has been a great distraction. Anyways I hope we can see the Bash Brother cards of Mark McGwire &Jose Canseco,Dwight Golden,Kirby Puckett but there might be licensing issues ?

Yes. It has gotten progressively worse since Monday. Defeating,frustrating.....

After reading the other responses I feel like my skill set is still at Atari video game days.lol I’ve had the game since the early release but have only accrued 75,000 or so XP’s. I have a job and family so I usually play after everybody is in bed. I have been focusing on beating The Showdown multiple times to pile up Team affinity vouchers and completed most of the moments daily etc. However the past couple of nights the dreaded “unknown server” has been wrecking havoc .

If you can’t play the game because of daily server issues what good is it to give out freebie stubs or packs if you can’t use it? Lol

In my own experience with packs I’ve noticed my luck has been a lot better with the smaller 10/20 packs than the Baller packs.

I will preface by saying that sports video gaming has been a part of my life since the introduction of the original Nintendo. Loved Tecmo football along with the original baseball etc. I understand that this is a Sony forum. I’m 100% a supporter of Sony and the PS4. Anyway,I’m a offline player and by the all feedback I’m not all interested in online gaming. Tons of drama. I believe there’s a untapped segment of offline “The Show”. Either way,I’m thankful of the The Show’s content. A good distraction of life during these sketchy times. I can only devote two plus hours a night to jamming it out. I’m the dreaded “packs buyer” for my DD team.

Clearly there’s two distinct segments of The Show players 1) Individuals who have large amounts of free time to complete these Inning deadlines 2) Individuals who have families along with jobs which shrinks the time allotted to complete these time sensitive Innings. I fall into #2 which it is what it is. Somehow The Show team will have to be creative if they want to accommodate a large number of us who enjoy the Diamond Dynasty segment but with limited time.

Yup. We are “toxic” according to them.

Bad servers??? Whaaa??? Seriously? It’s become terrible. People with jobs and lives already have small amounts of time to play. The servers issues just reduces that time even further. I can’t believe they play to drop player of the month programs and 2nd inning programs later this week while the servers are crashing on a nightly basis.

I agree man! I work,have a family and only have a couple hours a night to veg’ out and play. It’s sickening the amount of downtime with server issue and the Double XP weekend was a complete dumpster fire. Played and didn’t get rewarded for it. Just really solidifies my belief of no longer putting a dime into this game .

Nope. Not working. Lost track of all the “supposed dub XP “ that I haven’t received .

Received double XP’s on Friday evening but since then it’s all been just the normal amount. I’m guessing all the double is lost for good .

Been grinding out the “alleged double XP weekend but not being credited along with endless “unhandled server” issues. Absolutely horrendous.
