Are there any cons to being two way in RTTS?
  • seanstephans_PSNS seanstephans_PSN

You’re a pitcher who hits. You won’t win the batting title or be recognized for your OBP, SLG, and OPS. If you can live with that, you’re golden.

Basically, I will do three RTTS: a two-way player, a fielder, and a pitcher. It’s the only way to get yourself the records you want.

  • Changed my pitcher entirely: now I throw nothing but slop and love it!

As the title implies, I revamped my pitcher. I have The Professor Diamond with 4 Diamond perks. I was trying to be a control/velocity pitcher before with fastballs in the mid-90s, while able to hit the corners with enough consistency to get swings-and-misses. I noticed two issues that I just didn’t care for: I gave up more long balls than I like because, well, throwing fastballs that missed over the plate; and my strikeouts were dependent on the size of the zone the variable umpire was calling for a particular game.

I am still a Diamond Professor, but I now use two Diamond control perks and two Diamond break perks. It’s just more fun for me to pitch this way. I never throw the ball above the belt. Everything is low, slow, and lots of movement. I don’t throw any straight pitches, nor do I have a traditional fastball in my repertoire. My pitches are a Splitter, Circle-Change, Sinker, Palmball, and Slurve. My fastest pitch is 86 MPH and my slowest is 79 MPH.

I’m only 9 games into this save, so I’m still at AA. I play on All Star, with classic pitching, and the pitch trail faded. I know I’m just an old guy who would get smoked by most of the folks here but I’m having fun playing RTTS again. Probably will do something similar with my fielder save.

The Royals traded away every “A” prospect from our team for retread veterans. It sucked.

I have about the same results. Three to five games of a slump then I’ll go 8 - 10 over the next two games.

  • Offense Can’t Score When Your Start
  • seanstephans_PSNS seanstephans_PSN

It’s a weird issue, for sure. You also have to keep in mind that you are probably your team’s best batter. So taking that bat out of the middle of the lineup means a bench player took your spot. It shouldn’t result in the 1-run losses we keep seeing. But at least there is some truth to the idea that removing the best bat would bring down the offense.

If you are playing on PS, hold L2 and Triangle. It auto-runs you to the base.

  • Pitching Clutch has the weirdest AI for progression

@painpa_psn said in Pitching Clutch has the weirdest AI for progression:

recording outs with risp(that a run dont score) is the only thing ive seen that gives +clutch.

I agree that’s all I’ve seen too. Which is hardly the only instance of pitching clutch. But it is what it is.
