I think I had to collect some free agents as part of a starter collection or something. I remember doing it on the first day. Am I misremembering this?

I’ve been plugging away all pre-release on my RTTS catcher, and I just finished a full season. I am a catcher, and not a single player has tried to steal on me all season. That’s the best part of being a catcher! Calling pitches and doing the showtime “play at the plate” are kinda boring.

Is anyone else playing as a catcher? Do I have some weird setting toggled that I don’t know about? Or is this just a bug that will hopefully get patched at some point?

I don't necessarily agree. In the old days their streams were less structured and they answered more questions. You could also find various high level team members like Ramone in forums answering questions.

I haven’t heard anything positive (or even neutral) about SDS’ communication for years.

They never answer simple questions on the forums anymore. And they have never answered simple questions, like how attributes work. Now that we can modify our attributes manually with the new parallel system, it would be nice to know what those numbers actually mean.

I remember several years ago, ramone was on a stream and talking about H/9 or K/9. He was basically talking about RNG without saying it. But he said something like “the k/9 attribute and the contact attribute go at each other.” What on earth does that mean? How should we allocate our attribute points if we don’t even understand what they do?

Maybe you’ve had better luck getting responses from them than I have. But their poor communication is generally my biggest complaint with the company overall.

(And also removing Frank Thomas from the game)

SDS has always been pretty bad at communicating with their players. And I say that as someone who actually loves this game and defends it pretty regularly on the forums. So I agree that it’s frustrating, but if you’re still relatively new to MLBTS then you’ll have to get used to their lack of communication. Again, I do love their games, but this is (in my opinion) the weakest part of SDS as a whole.

Bros — are any of you bros experiencing more errors than usual? Specifically when the CPU is on defense? Bro, I was just bro-ing it up in RTTS and there were a comical number of fielding errors. And I was like, bro, that’s bro big deal. It’s to be expected when playing in AA. But then I just played the starter brodown and each of the mini boss games had a pretty critical error. Julibro Rodriguez just Aaron judged a fly ball in CF. Is this the year of the error? Or am I just seeing a lot of bad luck bunched brogether all in one afternoon?

I would list all the reasons exactly why this post is asinine, but you already know. The most cowardly and embarrassing part is that you won’t even own it and you’re pretending like this is a genuine question. I thank God I am not you. Wow.

Nothing in my initial 20 packs or in the 16 now and later. But I pulled 90 LS from a XP path pack. No interest in the LS rewards at the moment, and I don’t really think lindor will be a 90 all year. So I sold him for 110K or so. Picked up Corbin Carroll and the WBC Marte. Sitting on the rest for now.

At least SDS is generous enough to give out an 80 gold as the CWS LS collection reward. Last year should have been the first time in history they gave out a bronze as a collection reward.

But we love our Sox! My father and I are flying out to AZ to see them play the snakes in mid-April. Can’t wait! My two favorite teams. And my dad and I are doing a bit of a “victory tour” as a celebration. He beat cancer twice within a span of 5 years, so we are doing what we’ve talked about for years and years — flying around the country to see a bunch of new ballparks. We went to Minnesota and Cincinnati last year (where I caught a foul ball for the first time in my life!), and we’re doing AZ, KC, Baltimore and possibly Pittsburgh this year. We’re both worried about a work stoppage next year, so we’re going all out in 2026. Wohoooo baseball!

A few days ago, someone created a thread asking which new legends could “move the needle” for MLBTS2026. I think the best possible answer to that question would be “not Ken Singleton.”

Eventually they should do an “All Commentator Theme Team.” Then we can get a Steve Stone Awards card for his Cy Young season.

Everyone can complain about a game they haven’t even played yet in other threads. This thread is for the pimps who are STOKED for tonight! I have a half day at work tomorrow, and then I have the next week off. Even sloths are going to be impressed by how infrequently I move off the couch between now and Monday, March 23.

First thing, though — gotta go to the batting stance creator to make sure my favorite players are still in the game. I haven’t watched every stream, but I don’t think I’ve seen confirmation on Frank Thomas, Rod Carew, George Brett, Tony Gwynn, Brooks Robinson, or Luis Aparicio.

I agree. If they give Nick Kurtz his first three 99s at launch, then his other fifteen 99s might start to feel less special as the year goes on.

Depends on what kind of needle we’re talking about. Bonds, ARod, and Canseco all moved plenty of needles. McGwire, Sosa, Ortiz, and Palmeiro are all also bigtime needle movers who are in the game.
