I wonder if my wife would let me get away with playing for 12 hours if I told her it was for charity

Most people love how the game plays. Their is just a few loud cry babies that can't take an L
haha. Im terrible but having fun.
Its maddening when you hit a Perfect and line out to deep CF or hit a scorcher to the 3B. Thats baseball man.

As someone who started late and way behind catching up and grinding TA1.....
No catch-up ladders should be provided. If I want to catch up, I will master the Divisions' showdown

You gotta walk a guy each inning lol
haha. Love hearing the astounded announcers after I intentionally walk the leadoff guy every inning.

I would go LS. Finishing those gives you large boosts of XP and Stubs as well, not to mention some very usable cards.
I found myself forcing it and buying out the remainder of my LS just after the 4th of July when the prices were down. When the dust settled, I didnt really have too many fewer stubs than I started with

I would love more offline content like this!

underwhelmed

I would like for a little more offline content, because that is where I live. I enjoy playing offline, rarely dabbling online.
I like conquest mode. The showdowns are also great, but infuriating. I like moments, but IMO it is way too moment heavy. I prefer different challenges possibly. For example, for one of the players, say Reynolds. You do 1 or 2 moments, but then you can earn like 20 of the points beating Arizona in a World Series on all-star, or something. Full-game challenges that are worth the time-investment

Basically it is searching for a wide enough gap between Buy and Sell orders, with taking in frequency of purchases and 10% tax into account. I found that Live Cards are a good way to go, and typically the 73-78 range gives you a lot of good options and arent huge, risky investments with large swings.
Then going for a large quantity of buys and sells based on beating the buy and sell orders by 1. Don't micromanage. Especially with Sell-Orders. Just leave them, and if they are still there after like 5 days go see what's up. You will find your cadence and little quirks and tricks that work for you.

Give them ur money pathetic for virtual 1 year card
I’ve given them about $200 dollars this year for a years worth of entertainment. I’d say that’s money well spent.
I'm surprised there is still extra $$$ being dumped into the game at this point, even with a sale. With the $100 game version, I'd say I dumped about 200-250 total and that is more than enough. How people dump thousands is beyond me. Maybe I should get into the business, plenty of suckers to be had
Especially with how easy it is to raise stubs flipping cards
-
Its nice to do. I hammered out fairly quickly during the price-drop around the 4th of July and also got lucky pulling a Trout and Scherzer withing a week.
Afterward is nice because there is still a lot to do with stubs, chasing other collections and exchanges for TA and whatnot. It is really nice not having to pinch stubs for 'several' Diamond players.
-
IMO quantity of sales are superior to quality.
I dont want to get stuck with 100 of a card that is going to dip in the next day.... but Im not holding cards hoping they go up. Just sell that and buy the next ones to sell. JMO.

my discipline is probably the #1 issue for sure. Playing baseball in high school and amateurs I always had a mindset that the pitcher was always going to try to give me the best pitch 1st, so I swung on the 1st pitch most often.
I also was getting that 1st pitch perk too which maybe made me a bit overzealous.
I do take pitches, but also swing at a lot of nonsense.
I have thought of the idea of practicing legend for 10 minutes before the boss battle. I think I may try that.
I think I have a high success rate in AS and Veteran largely due to pitching and defense. My team also out-matches the CPU a nice deal so I can get potential HRs from 1-9 (PH for pitcher). Here in showdown, especially the 1st boss, not a whole lot of firepower.
-
ha, Im willing to try anything.
so frustrating. feels like i can steamroll it, and it has blown up each time. I feel like a toddler trying to play
-
ok. Just played and beat the 1st 3 challenges. Have the showdown with Berrios.
Just made my lineup very RHP friendly with with the best hitters up top. Going to take a break and pick it up later. First I am going to practice vs Berrios on Legend.
I love this mode though, at least the concept of it. Love the divisional theme and putting together a team and all that

thanks, saveferris. I like the idea of gradual-match-ups... even though my one Event match was against a really good player and I fluked my way to a 2-0 victory, ha.
Yea. what he says. RS is a total $hit show but he's right, you'll start off against other folks with low ratings. It'll take at least 2 games for the innings, just don't take Manea out for the entire 9 and then start him with low energy for one inning and you'll get the innings then bring in another starter since you can do that now if you need someone else to get the K's.
cool. I have Doolittle too
Pretty sure it's Starter innings but i could be wrong
Aha, got ya. Ill make sure I look at that.
Im not even really particularly interested in this one. Its grinding out everything from TA to Featured Programs. Havent really touched any of the online missions yet. -

@skywalker_25 said in 85 Kerry Wood.......Who's still in your bullpen that makes your [censored] clinch up when you are forced to use them?:
Early on it was definitely that 87 Mariano Rivera.
That one is tough. Also, Morton kind of gets rocky for me.
On the flip side. Despite having like 2 pitches, that Amir Garrett card was dynamite for me early on.

I pulled a trout in a show pack last night and I dont feel let-down. Just hoping the price bumps up again before I sell
