Im sure this is an unpopular opinion in the greater community, but streamers are what ruined this game. Back before them, ranked play was awesome. There was a general variety to teams, there was no such thing as META, and each individual had to figure out best methods of playing on their own. Sure, there was the occasional cheeser, but it was rare. Now, as soon as the streamers show glitches, cheesy gameplay, hacks, and META, all the plebes follow suit and competition tanked.

You are correct, SDS should be making more statements, shame on them.
That said, can we stop posting every other F’ing day about it and realize they’ll put them in as soon as they can, I tend to believe that they want the best product possible and if they can get top prospects, with their true likeness into the game, they’ll do so asap. It’s one thing they can do to help cover up the rest of the [censored] that’s wrong.

So let’s compare your temper tantrum over nonsense to a real world example since you seem to want to compare this to steroid use.
If we follow your rules in MLB, every player has to use the exact same bat, exact same cleats, exact same gear - meaning no one can use any protective gear since that would possibly give them an unfair advantage. Every batter would have to stand in the exact same position, in the exact same spot in the box, take the exact same swing, and bat from the same side as everyone else. Pitchers would only be able to throw the exact same four pitches, throw with the same arm slot, the same velocity, and use the same windup. Remember, you want no one to have a supposed advantage and it all comes down to who can win using the exact same setup.
If you haven’t realized at this point that there’s nuance to playing a game and every player has a comfort zone and does what works best for them with the rules that are available, then I think it may be time for you to leave society and live on a compound by yourself or join a cult that believes everything exactly the same as you.
People have different comfort levels of how they want to play the game. There is no bonus for picking a specific setting, if this were the case, every streamer would be showing the bonus setup and every plebe would follow suit since they can’t think for themselves.
Get a grip and relax, or go start a cult. Either way, I’ll play how I want to play as long as SDS gives me those options.

You don’t understand licensing, there are two different types of player likeness licensing
MLBPA Licensing
Once a player is part of the 40 man roster, they fall under MLBPA (MLB Union, not the MiLB Union). Under this agreement, SDS can use the player’s name, stats, jersey, and photo. It’s why newer players or those recently called up can have Diamond Dynasty cards with real names, official headshots, and accurate uniforms and ratingsBUT — this license does not include the rights to the player’s 3D likeness (face scan or custom head model).
This is a very important distinction to players, most of the MLB players have already given this up under their collective bargaining agreements and are fine with SDS using the models. Newer player weren’t part of those negotiations and retain those rights for themselves. Some have no issue while others are more restrictive.
To model a player’s actual 3D face, San Diego Studio (SDS) needs the following:
• The player to sit for a face scan
• The player to sign off on image and likeness use beyond the MLBPA licenseDo a little research before making assumptions. There’s a plethora of available information in a variety of different avenues. Use that brain of yours and make it a little less smooth.

Textbook definition of INFLATION!!!
Your scenario cuts supply of collection cards, cuts stubs creation, LS supply remains the same. Prices will come down, but so will the balance of stubs. Great you’ll be able to get gatekeepers cheaper, but you’ll have less stubs and still will be bitching about not being able to afford them.

Dear lord, just stop, it’s not about taking the time to get face scans or whatever, it’s about licensing. You want it done sooner, pick up your phone and call the agents of the players and work out a deal to pay them for their likeness. The players want protections and confidence that it doesn’t devalue their brand. Have a drink, smoke a blunt, go jerkoff, do whatever you typically do to relax and realize there’s more to this than your feeble little mind can comprehend.

Are you out of your GD MIND!!!
Never, ever, mention immortals again. Don’t give any credence to that disaster of a program. That was the first year I quit playing before ASG. I know at first it seemed fun and intriguing, but if I see a Buddy Bell card ever again, I’m going to set my console on fire!!

You actually just proved my point. The section you’re quoting only applies to group licensing—meaning when three or more players are featured collectively, like on a poster, baseball card set, or in a general-purpose video game roster. That’s what the MLBPA handles.
But when it comes to an individual’s detailed likeness—especially in a biometric or realistic form, like a 3D face scan—that’s a whole different legal category. The individual player retains those rights.
Here’s a simple test for your theory: if SDS already had full likeness rights for every player, why do they need to negotiate a separate agreement every year with the cover athlete? Answer: Because that requires the player’s personal consent. The group license doesn’t cover solo commercial use, endorsement, or the kind of high-fidelity scan work needed for that role.
So again—yes, SDS can use a player’s name, stats, and even their photo in Diamond Dynasty through the MLBPA. But the 3D face scan? That’s not automatically part of the group deal. If the player hasn’t been scanned—or hasn’t signed off—SDS legally can’t use their actual likeness in that format.

You need to do the mini-season that rewards Kris Bryant. It’s kinda boring at this point in the cycle, but it was out early on. Need to use a roster of 81 or under, it can be fun if you get creative with it. Just do it all on rookie/veteran and should go quickly.
Devin Kirby SDS you removed the knuckleball
Would you look at that!
