Guys I am kinda worried about certain things in this years game.I maybe be exaggerating of course but it seems to me that most of the 99's this year so far are in the packs.
TA Season 2 is 97 again. In the year of 99's day 1 we don't really get a lot of them through grinding.
This all may change but what if Team Affinity's are 97 all year long with XP reward path bosses being 99s
Do we really have to buy packs for 99 Ohtani and Trout ect?
I wasn't really thinking about this before and I need to see their stats but TA 2 being 97 kinda worries me a bit for the future of this game
the difference between 97 and 99 in this game is nothing, a 97 with a better swing will always be better than a 99 with a bad one. Card overall does not matter.
Lol you are acting like the dudes with god swings arent 99s and the 97s aren’t meaningless journeymen with boosted stats. Also the difference can be huge. A 97 is a 97. And 99 can be a 99 or like +110 like Chipper lmao. What you even on about. Come play with a team of 97s and see how you get on.
97 Acuna, 97 Yelich, 97 Santander, 95 carlos santana, 97 Dustin May, 97 Joc P, 97 Eloy (great dh), 97 taylor ward, there are an endless amount of 97's that play amazing, i have a god squad and ive played enough to understand that team overall isnt a be all end all, a better player using all 97's will beat a bad player using 99's. Its not madden or 2k.
Just not true…do some of you even play 2K? Some of you talk about it with complete ignorance.
First off, 2K didn’t make a game where every team is all 97/99 players within a day of launch.
There’s actually some balance to the game, especially in the early stages. Sure they launched some Pink Diamond cards earlier than usual…but they were hard to attain.
And I’ve won plenty of games of 2K where I had the worse team.
This whole argument that some of you guys post that The Show is the ONLY game where “a good player with a worse team can beat a bad player with a better team” is straight up BALONEY.
I’m a slightly above average 2K player…and I would roll into games with a STRATEGIC mix of lower rated cards that I’d spent time using and learning their shots and moves.
I was also able to use STRATEGY and in game currency to boost those players by adding badges and investing in a coach that fit my play style.
Maybe even add a Dynamic Duo boost as well.
With that team I was then able to jump online and absolutely throttle guys who had better, higher rated cards then me…
In most cases, I was the better player, but sometimes only by a slim margin or we were practically equal. There were also cases where I beat players better than me because of how I built my team, the boosts I had given them(badges, shoes), and how familiar I was with their animations and shot releases.
I’d love for you to tell me how ANY of this is possible in The Show…
How are you going to take a team full of significantly lesser cards and beat someone close to the same skill as you?
The guy who moves his PCI better to the ball is going to win.
It also depends on how big a gap there is in talent of the two players. Obviously a great player is going to beat a terrible player…and acting like that ONLY happens in The Show is complete and utter BS.
We should want a mode where the inverse is actually possible imo.
A mode where the slightly worse player can use STRATEGY on and off the field to win a game vs a better player. That means you have a mode where all these cards and strategies actually MATTER.
Does this game provide that? Not really…
We have players who can’t even be bothered fo strategically put a BATTING ORDER together properly…but they can move the PCI to the ball, so they win.
A mode where the better player always wins is not the perfect mode you think it is. It actually makes all the other parts of the mode completely useless.
a mode where the better player wins is a bad mode. Got it.
