Hello,
I play The Show several days a week and wanted to provide feedback on some aspects that I think can be improved upon in the game. The issues that I mention below have been present in at least the '25 and '26 versions of the game, as well as '24, as I recall. I love baseball and enjoy playing The Show, and this message is merely intended to make a connection and provide honest feedback with the individuals developing the game.
-The lack of friction on balls hit to the outfield is unrealistic and makes the game less fun because it leads to fewer extra base hits than occur in real life.
-I often play a buddy of mine 1v1 in Exhibition mode and we have had issues dating back at least three years where the stadiums we choose do not take effect when our games load, except for maybe 1 out of every 7 or 8 games. Instead, we must play at that year's All Star Game stadium.
--We also are unable to challenge (or guess) pitches or plays in this game mode. We also cannot call timeout as a hitter. Why have different rules for this game mode that are not the rules of the sport?
-The amount of line drives that turn into outfield lineouts seems to be much greater in The Show than in real life. It would be far more realistic, and fun, if this balance tipped more toward hit-heavy.
-The delay in runners changing directions on the basepaths is a hindrance to the game being realistic and more fun.
-It would be great if there was a better way to visualize or convey that a ball will be in the dirt in an online game so users could more easily decide whether to run while the ball is on its way to home plate.
-Outfielders with bad reaction times have unrealistically bad reaction times that make the game less fun than it could be.
-When outfielders are approaching the ball to make a running catch in The Show, the ball bounces off of their glove for a hit/error much more frequently than occurs in real life.
-Generally speaking, it is frustrating to hit a ball with a good PCI and timing and have that exact same PCI and timing sometimes lead to a hard hit ball and other times lead to a poorly hit ball. If a hitter hits the ball with (effectively) the same PCI placement and timing in separate at-bats, it should result in similar outcomes (i.e., exit velocity).
If you'd like to follow up with me, I would be delighted to connect.
