Also I hate playing 9 inning games online - and almost never wanna do it. Three innings is fine. I got kids and lots of distractions - hate feeling glued to one game for an hour (especially with all the lag and jank of online games)

If you think this game should be a decent sim of real baseball, the "wet noodle" effect has to happen. The problem is that too many people are just too good at video games...so you'd have to really nerf them if you don't want this to be an arcade game.

@MarioMendoza935_XBL yeah, it's interesting that this at least pushes you to play online with other cards. I'd rather it be required to play that way, instead of just incentivized for the xp path, but it's a step in the right direction anyway.
Usually, I call Events "sweatin to the oldies" because it feels like only oldhead 800-plus players play it. But, I've been going on 9 and 10 game win streaks lately - all these mid players just playing it for the moonshot program.
Also, I don't know why they can't make the CPU play more like a human. That would really help offline modes.
-
Yeah, if Events is the answer to this problem, it's a really bad answer. It should be a mode that's available online and offline - and requires you to design interesting teams. The restrictions and themes in Events are never interesting, and allow use of way too many cards (like...every player with an odd number!)...or they just focus on using whatever the most recently-released collection was.

One of the most rewarding and addicting parts of DD is working on building your team. It's like working on the muscle car in the garage - every day you make it a little bit better, a little cooler and newer...you make gradual progress as you acquire new parts.
Unfortunately, that part of the game was pretty much blown to bits in July. Suddenly, your team was fully stocked with maxed-out players. Any change that you made to most positions felt like a lateral move, at best. Every once in a while, a "giant mega shiny toy" would come out (Chipper or someone) and you'd get that if you could swing it...but it's not the same reward as slowly working on improving the team.
Even though I adore all of the content that this game provides, this is the one aspect that I don't like. The abandonment of power creep plus "switch hitting meta" has made team building moot.
If they're going to go this route, we need a mode where we can build other teams. It misses the whole point if everything gets tricked out so quick - the fun part is building it at the beginning.

Diamond Quest gives so many stubs right now - it's not that hard to make over 100k in two hours. Everything is going to inflated when there's that much money in supply.
-
I like Diamond Quest - but I wish challenges had stat tracking. Those stupid "hit a home run" challenges can take forever - and I get no credit for the 10 doubles I hit trying!
-
@TheGoaler_PSN but I don't think it matters when you hit the button - the result is already predetermined. Which is silly.
-
It just seems like MLB could lend a hand and encourage lots of the legends and their families to participate. Wouldn't you want to be represented in a video game if you had the choice? A lot of the younger legends probably play the game.
-
Hot take - SDS gave up on Team Affinity and the power creep to please casual players who have now left. We should just now be getting the 99s.
-
The funny part is they promoted and teased Sanchez as if this is someone that anybody wanted. Seems do out of touch.
-
Anyone who has played Jim Rice or Gary Carter for more than an inning should get a prize mailed to their home. They are the true heroes.
-
Its not that Gary Sanchez sucks, it's the switch hit meta and 15 other catchers and the power creep make this card useless, just like so many cards coming out now...
-
Game needs an online and offline Team Building mode. Can't grind on Battle Royale, and Events still feel a bit pointless. Problem is that SDS doesn't want a mode to compete with Ranked - they want all their eggs in the Ranked basket
-
Everything is inflating now, for some reason. Just yesterday, you could spend 2 hours getting Glaus in diamond quest and make 60k (plus another 25k for Sutton). Thats so many stubs in so little time
-
@Rhyno1986_XBL or hear me out. Wouldn't it be more fun and interesting if the decision to switch cards and form different teamswere strategic....instead of just "ok, I guess I'll play with this guy for a while to change it up"
-
So, OP just want everyone to have the "same experience" with packs? Doesn't that totally defeat the point of a trading card game? (the luck factor of getting good pulls).
I just want the odds to be more reasonable.
-
I love how nobody is just "pretty good" at this game. There's the people putting up 38 runs per game - and the people complaining about being able to get hits on veteran difficulty. No in-between!
-
If I have 1000 cards, about 15 of them have a Use Value of "Infinity". About 960 of them have a Use Value of "quite nearly zero". There's gotta be a better way to do this.
-
It shouldn't be like the lottery - it should be like betting the run line at the sports book (a slightly less than half chance to come out ahead).
But, if people keep playing the lottery, I guess SDS has a good reason for making the odds so poor
