Rage quitting is the worst....until you just need a win, then its delightful

OK, what is with the venom on X? SDS can post the most benign thing - hey, we are giving you some content to play! - and the comments will be a thousand people screaming "you suck!" in the most angry tone possible.

Is it this way with other games, or just this one?

I've criticized plenty of stuff about this game over the years, but sheesh guys...maybe just be like "oh cool, a free Sonny Gray"?

Letting the last hit play out would be a big QOL improvement

  • June Countdown Program opinion
  • rubicante23_PSNR rubicante23_PSN

I like this program quite a bit. But, it is weirdly kinda pitched as a "catch up" program - catch up on exp.

But, the people who most need to catch up are probably casuals who will have a hard time finishing the program. The people who will have an easy time...probably dont really need the exp. Its just a wheel spin to them (big deal)

@Onix_Savage22_PSN yeah, there's not any good reason to play it without the program. Fully agree.

I do occasionally play, just cause I hate ranked. I have close to zero chance of winning ten, I've gotten to eight (and only to six without a loss)

It would be nice if there was more point to the whole thing than "money for the super-elite" - like, they probably dont need the money anyway!

  • SDS - the computer throws way too many balls

@TheJeweledLotus_PSN I agree with you that cpu plays dumb in lots of ways, which is so annoying to me.

Most people dont care - they just want cpu to be punching bag. They dont want challenging play from cpu, just quick stats.

Game companies in all games dont care - they want you online. Thats when people spend - they buy stuff there, because they worry their team isn't as good as others.

So, noone cares - and thats why cpu still plays like its a dumb robot from 2005.

Where's all the new AI? Isn't this exactly what all the new AI tech should be good at? Making a good cpu experience that mimics real human play?

Im not locking in the one I got, thats for sure. 50k is a steep buy-in for more though

Ps: the Ronald Acura is a sweet car to own, its got the Grimace on the hubcaps

  • rubicante23_PSNR rubicante23_PSN

@DeleteyourTTVBTW_MLBTS yeah, it can be efficient if you were going to do most of the stuff anyway.

But, if youre more of an offline guy, you could just stick to the normal stuff you do to make stubs and be just fine.

It took me 7 BR games, 3 Ranked, and a little cpu play to do the hard missions. I feel like thats pretty fast - but still takes a lot of time. I certainly could've made as many stubs or more doing other stuff.

  • So sick of cheaters
  • rubicante23_PSNR rubicante23_PSN

I recently ran into an Xbox player who got six really good home run swings in a row. A couple of them on very tough pitches (turning on perfectly located inside cutter).

There was also some "glitchiness" to the swing - like, it looked like the ball was past the bat, then glitch and its a home run. A few balls that looked like the fielder was too far away - and then glitch and its caught. Could just be server issues...and its possible he just got super hot for two innings, that can happen...but he did nothing the other seven innings, lol

  • rubicante23_PSNR rubicante23_PSN

So...I dont really disagree with this post, but people dont ever complain when real humans pitch this way online. Just when cpu does.

Like, good online players dot the corner over and over - to the point where you might see one ball every two innings thats anywhere near center of the zone. They throw plenty of balls too - slider/cutter breaking in on you, breaker low, heat high, etc.

People just accept this with human players and go "well thats strategy - thats how you pitch". When cpu does it, there's outrage. Also, no matter what cpu does - the cpu games go WAY faster and smoother than online games.and also, cpu gives you center cut meatballs WAY more - on any difficulty.

I get that people seem to just want CPU to be a punching bag where they can quickly grind stats....but I dont want that from cpu. I want it to be a good replica of smart play.

I actually think BR should be chopped next year and replaced with Theme Team Mode or Salary Cap Mode...or some team-building mode.

But for now, I enjoy BR - way way more than Ranked. I despise 9-inning ranked games - they are a SLOG with a capital S for me.

Showdown is a terrific mode, and it should get some love. Unless the menus are a laggy mess...then whelp....its less great.

  • Hard missions - not much value
  • rubicante23_PSNR rubicante23_PSN

@SpawnOfDitka_XBL BR isn't as bad as you think now - lots of newer people seem to be on to get program done. If you lose against a really good player, you'll usually get 3 pretty bad players after that.

  • Hard missions - not much value
  • rubicante23_PSNR rubicante23_PSN

To be fair, Teak has always wanted longer TA-style offline grinds (and so do I). Thats totally legit...even if you like this countdown program (which I do).

I dont think many people, offline or on, are too wild about the copy-paate program and miniseason schtick

@Dodgers_1890_PSN yeah, but it was during a week where I was smoking everyone. Now everyone is smoking me.

  • Thanks SDS!
  • rubicante23_PSNR rubicante23_PSN

I like what OP said about "I should have always been playing CPU games on hof or higher - but I didn't have a reason to before."

Yeah, I think most good players I encounter online - if theyre gonna be playing cpu, it definitely should be at least on hof. But, that little bump in pxp they were giving before gave pretty much zero reason to up the difficulty.

  • Thanks SDS!
  • rubicante23_PSNR rubicante23_PSN

Agreed, this program is different and interesting, and gives incentive to play at different difficulties.

  • Hard missions - not much value
  • rubicante23_PSNR rubicante23_PSN

They love copying and pasting- so I would expect end of July to have the same kind of program with a rewind pack.

That seems like classic SDS content. Take something a little fun and new - then copy it eight times, instead of finding another thing thats new and fresh.

  • Hard missions - not much value
  • rubicante23_PSNR rubicante23_PSN

They'll do a rewind pack at some point - you cant hold forever. But you could hold for a while and get rich.

  • Hard missions - not much value
  • rubicante23_PSNR rubicante23_PSN

Its pretty crazy he is still selling for 60k right now - like, this is a card that takes very little effort to get.

That should tell you how many people there are out there who just dont wanna (or cant) play Events or online, lol
