There's only one silver lining - this game is so broken in favor of home runs that most players who can bat pretty well dont even care about stealing.
If they do steal, its just to avoid double plays - which are insanely common in the show - not really to have a better chance at putting up runs.
This is another thing that SDS apparently just doesnt know how to fix...remember how they bragged about Pop Time?
Stealing is so broken. I love how in every stealing thread there's two guys that post "I just threw out a 99 speed guy!" - cool, just like the guy who says he just pulled Shohei. you get lucky once in a blue moon - but it is SO free and broken to steal
I think the only "flipping" that should be allowed is making good guesses about what the market will do - human guesses, not some silly algorithm that guarantees you 10 stub profit everytime you flip a glove.
You can tell most people are terrible about this - Posada was still valued at 70k one week ago. Three days before he was guaranteed to drop to 14k (because he's in rewind packs). Its crazy that people dont anticipate better with this stuff.
There's a lot of stubs to be gained if you just pay attention on buying low and selling high
@ApolloZ_99_MLBTS well, its not the biggest deal - its not like it makes the mode hard or anything.
Its just that I used to scoff at people when they accused sds of subtly moving difficulty sliders up and down - now its clear to me that this is a thing, and its kind of a sneaky annoying thing
Yeah, there's so much bugginess and glitchiness and jank with this game...this ain't one of them. If this moment foils you that badly, then I dont know how you play other stuff.
@NotesOfJohn_PSN I dont care that you're playing good players - but they seem to have really cranked up the difficulty sliders too. I am hitting a lot of balls right on the screws and getting nothing - feels like the grinding has been nerfed. My usual 7 runs per three-inning game on hof is more like "fight and claw for 3 runs" right now
OK, heres how you become a True Legend at the Show...
I think fewer people qualify for this than go Flawless or get to 1000 ranked. You gotta really smell the stench that SDS is cooking, and be on it like red beans on rice...and you gotta fight an army of bots who come at you like it's the Neverwinter
Some questions that should be keeping you up at night:
I know "git gud" responses get people upset...but its a moment for petes sake. You can restart it after first hit fails...so yeah...
And players are only interested in certain archetypes, because the meta is so superior. So its just like "heres the same guys...again and again..."
The leaks are annoying in that you now have to really pay attention to get all this secret info thats gonna further skew the market
Tatis, Chone, Miz, Belli
All got new cards, and they all have high-rated cards already. Miz is a decent improvement, but the other three are super similar to the cards already out. Are we just out of players to showcase - its like madden now, theyre just giving you nearly identical cards of the same guy.
Plus someone leaked the upcoming rewards.
Yeah, or just make it a WC reward like Trouty
Every year, this game has SO many catchers who can rake. Sometimes gets to a point where you wanna just field a team of 5 catchers.
Its extra funny since catcher is historically NOT a great hitting position
@whitejw98_MLBTS outfield is kinda open right now - there's no great obvious choice. A lot of fine choices - happ, Beltran, mantle, singleton, judge, soto, JRam secondary, griffey if youre rich or lucky....but none of those are like the clear guy, right?
@On_a_Power_Trip_PSN yep, and thats the problem - there would be a ton of people striking out all the time.
A better solution might be if like half the foul balls became "weak in play contact" - so the ball is in play and you have a low chance at getting on
The Babe Ruth card has soared to over 150k - and the demand on him might be crazy soon, if his Contributor card is needed for Legends and Flashback collection.
Boss rewind back is sorely needed.
You're usually competing more against your fellow gamers than SDS. We could look at the percentage of "regular players" who got to the inning boss - and argue if that percentage is too high or low.
If the percent gets too high, it defeats the point of the whole mode - though I guess you could argue that inning bosses should be mostly free, and other things more exclusive
This game does play a lot better with silver and gold hitters, though - it kinda goes off the rails when every card is a mega-juiced diamond with bionic arms and legs...
DD would be better with a modified hitting machine from the rest of the game - but that'll never happen
@go4stros25_PSN yeah, if a good player is locked in, there are no strikeout pitches...only foul balls.
Here's what I think would help:
Step one - nerf the sinker a lot and the cutter a little, buff the curve
Step two - stop the foul tips on bad swings
Step three - reduce the home runs a lot, make them extra base hits
That would go a long way...
The sale price now for Degrom isn't high enough to make it crazy valuable (DQ may be just as good now) - but its still pretty good
