Nope, just position player. My 2nd, inactive player is 2-way.

you probably clicked through to fast, if you pinch hit, when the next inning starts it will take you to the bullpen if you have a position player on the mound, if an inning starts with anyone new on the mound, then you're 3 battered. Have to pay attention.
No, this is not a one-and-done test. I have tried it multiple times. It never goes to the bullpen, it skips straight to the pitching UI.
When using a regular player as pinch hitter, you are correct, it goes to the bullpen - BUT, when using My Ballplayer as pinch hitter it does not.
