I don't understand how anyone plays any game on less than max difficulty. I mean jeez every game I complete in one try blindfolded with my left hand just to make it challenging. Please worship me on these boards as I have no life.

I don't understand why they don't extend the First Inning deadline. Every time I have had the time to sit down and put 3 to 4 hours into the grind the servers are down. A lot of people can only play in the evenings and since that's always when the servers are down, they are screwed on the First Inning rewards.

Seriously I don't get the whole need to flex about "I play my single player content on HOF with sliders maxed, the rest of you are fluff players" bs. Who cares what people play at for their single player stuff. I don't play MTO at Beginner anymore because I figured out a pattern to the pitches and I was scoring too many double digit runs in games, wasn't fun for me. I haven't dashboarded any Moments (yet). I also don't give a squat if other people do, and will still show those people respect on the boards.
Online gamers flexing on the board I sorta get. People gotta feel good about themselves somehow when online can be brutal, especially the modes that don't match you by rating. But what's the purpose of flexing about single player? It's just like the dudes in PvE games with a PvP option putting down the people that only play PvE.

I kinda like them, especially the hitting ones. I use it as a warmup before I move onto Conquest games.

So probably easy question. Does anyone know if you play RTTS during the many, numerous, long server outages, does any stat progress show up if you use that player in DD at a later date, during those 5 minute stretches when DD is up?
I know that the archetype program progress does not transfer/show up (I've given up on that "feature" because I play RTTS when the servers are down), hoping at least the stat increases and overall rating changes do.
-
Same here. I get progress when I use my player in DD games but at a 58 he's not much use there. Rtts games give no progress to the programs, apparently the Archetype programs are a broken feature.

I finally made it through Cruz (the 5 game one's suck), just did a little bit on Williams and yeah the pitching AI definitely makes it frustrating.
I don't understand why they need to change the pitching AI and then list something as "Rookie" or "Veteran". As I've played countless number of Conquest games, there is an obvious difference between the moments. Especially in the multi-game moments when you get into the last few games and am close to completion. Sure the PCI size may be at Rook or Vet, but the pitching definitely is not. 72 rating pitchers painting the corners, throwing balls just outside the zone when they're at 95 pitch count.
Overall I feel like the Moments this year are generally easier than years past. However they need to overhaul whatever they have done to the pitching AI. Let them pitch the same way they do in Conquest & vrs. CPU at the same difficulty. Quit making low 70s pitchers into Greg Maddux!

I don't get the latest Tops Now Moments. I don't care what they label the settings as, the difficulty is way, way higher than the first two Tops Now weeks. I completed a lot of those on the first tries, the ones with multiple tries took only a few. Now I can't complete a single one of the current week...I always get 1 TB short or one run short.
The freaken Astros comeback one, the Angels closer turns into Greg Maddux once you tie the game. 3 perfect sliders on the inside corner in a row, when he's at 17 pitch count?

Everything looks like a change up or a breaking pitch
Finally someone speaking my language, I basically just call those people online DD casual noobs, they only care about hitting homeruns and scoring 15 runs a game and collecting cards. They basically don't care about the simulation aspect of baseball...they just want to play arcade baseball.....Like how F1 players just play online as bumper cars instead of respecting the sport and racing and making proper moves.
It also can come down to the skill level of the player. Also not all game modes are the same. MTO Rookie feels more like Conquest Veteran. vrs. CPU Rookie feels like MTO Beginner. I have won some games in vrs. CPU on All-Star. Conquest All-Star tears me to pieces.
I think all players have a sweet spot in difficulty. I started playing MTO at Beginner, figured out 75% of the pitches are center cut just high of middle, it wasn't fun anymore. Rookie & Vet make me have to be patient, so that's where I have the most fun. Played one season on Dynamic entered the playoffs at Vet+ hitting and AS pitching. Had trouble not walking batters. Offense was spotty (realistically) and I had to win a game 7 with a miracle walk-off HR to get to the WS. That was the most fun I'd had in the game because I was sooo close to actually losing the NLCS. If you or the OP play on the same difficulty and sweep every series by double digit run differential then yeah play higher, but don't put down the people who do find it a challenge.
What pci do you use on all-star or lower I use basic but have a hard time squaring up the ball any tips that is really why I made this thread I could have titled it better
I use fish eye PCI, zone hitting with guess quadrant. Pretty much what I've used ever since I started playing The Show many years ago. I guess I'm stubborn in not trying other settings. I used to always guess low and sit middle, but this year since it's actually possible to HR off a high pitch (used to be impossible in older versions) I often guess high when no one is on base. I've been practicing moving the PCI with mixed success, a lot of the time I overcompensate and hit a grounder or pop-up. That's why I don't understand how people love the modes above AS...do you just sit in one spot and wait for a pitch there? It seems humanly impossible to move the PCI to a pitch at those difficulties, especially fastballs.
Appreciate the feedback been grinding conquest and getting a little cheesed on higher difficulties but really don't have consistent timing on all star or lower I really have to sit on everything even guys like DeGrom
I have serious trouble hitting anything low 70s and below. I have my tv set on gaming mode (otherwise fastballs are impossible) but the downside to that is that the really slow pitches process faster on the screen than in the game, so you have to swing at them when they are in the catcher's glove. A 78mph curve and a 69mph curve move exactly the same on my screen. SDS really needs to do a better job reflecting speed from hand to glove.
The other issue is the "off-the-bat" speed off of slower pitches. If you square up an 89mph change it goes over the wall...do the same with an 89mph fastball and it floats harmlessly to an outfielder. I actually prefer going against higher velo pitchers in Conquest than the lower ones.
