no, you're right, it's still very much a thing. it goes beyond DD tho, my most recent MTO run is getting ruined because George Springer and Michael Brantley are conspiring against me whenever a ball hit 60 mph heads their directions (in other runs, they've made numerous sportscenter top 10 plays against me, so i know it's not bc of their fielding)

SDS for sure. showdown isn't ruining the rest of diamond dynasty for me, which is still a very fun mode. EA is the king of microtransactions and it goes beyond madden and fifa. if EA took over mlb the show i probably wouldn't play it ever again

They did a 30/30 milestone card for Shawn green??? Are u serious??? I love that they’re doing single game feats for some of the milestones, but how do they miss this one?! When I saw they were doing single game I immediately thought of the eventual 99 Shawn green for his 4 homer game…guess that’s not happening

id probably go with power or balanced. having good contact is always a good thing, but so far, having good vision and power seems to be more helpful than having great contact and vision. but yeah, might be a good idea to hold off until the next two or three patches if you have a good shortstop right now

So I guess none of the cool kids have gold cards in their lineup anymore?
I thought this thread would be about, yknow, LS Matt Olson or Eugenia Suarez or the like.
i've always been a huge fan of olson and i either want to go for him or snell (FOF versions) after gleyber. i've of course heard a ton about the gallo, but i love olson's swing more

@raesONE said in FOTF Byron Buxton:
I disagree with the statement above. I like Buxton a ton, not just for his defense (best in the game currently) but he has sneaky pop and speed kills. Perfect #8 hitter right now. No need to find your big bat in CF at this stage, plenty of sluggers on the corner positions to fill the heart of your line up.
i don't really remember the stats correctly for him, so i may be wrong about him. i haven't had a chance to use him nor have i faced him, i'm just basing it off cards i've faced with similar or better stats. may give him a shot though
-
wouldn't recommend. FOTF buxton is just a fielding card, doesn't have much in terms of hitting. i've stuck with grandy almost as soon as he came out, and i'm very happy with him. if you want someone else in center, i'd suggest either FOTF lo cain (not much power, but the vision and contact are good for top of the lineup) or even someone like acuna or bellinger
-
Red Sox:
Flashback (maybe even MVP) Pedroia
Jon Lester
Ted Williams
Rookie Benintendi
Pedro
Postseason KojiDon't need all of them, would mainly love the Koji and Pedroia

I like Robles but I have Acuna already. Thanks for the input!
if you would rather have robles, i'll gladly take acuna off ur hands!

I never really try to spend my stubs on multiple diamonds, instead trying to find budget low diamonds/high golds who can play well and then splurge on any diamond I want. I'd say I have a pretty solid team so far, but am always looking for an upgrade. What cards have you guys used that don't cost too much, but play really well?
Jimmy Rollins, Todd Helton, and Duke Snider are all fantastic
do you know if Rollins has eligibility at second? I have bogaerts at short right now and feel no need to get Lindor or Javy (especially since I'm gunning for FOF Gleyber currently), but I've definitely been interested in trying Rollins out

LS Eugenio Suarez, all he does is bomb
I have sheffield at third (not sellable unfortunately), but for whatever reason, I'm not getting the results I'd expect. might get Suarez and try him out

The gold Carlos Santana rakes, as well as the diamond version from Indians team affinity.
his hitting stats look just godly. i haven't spent a lot of time on conquest and the frank thomas is pretty enticing, so i may try him before santana. but if not then the gold santana will be a good placeholder until i'm able to get his FOF
-
it's definitely a grind, but just wait out the pitches. If you really want a good tip, then here's something that may be a bit much, but can pay off. I don't know if his card is on one of the legend rosters offline, but if he's not, create him with identical offensive stats (defense won't matter). then, put him on a roster, set up practice with shane bieber, mike clevinger, and carlos carrasco as the pitchers (on vet of course), and just work for a half hour or so until you feel comfortable enough to do it in DD. may be a bit much, but it's a good technique if you want more control over it as opposed to just getting lucky with the hitting challenges.

The best way to get 1st inning stars is to completely neglect your wife or girlfriend.
now that. is pretty [censored] funny

guess it depends on how ur doing with everyone individually. i'd maybe see buxton a little lower unless you're raking with him. if ur enjoying pache, continue with him, but i'd look to upgrade either him or mookie. maybe get FoF soto, you don't seem to be lacking in defense at all so maybe adding a bit more power to the lineup could help, especially since has good contact as well
-
idk if the second inning program will bring more evo players (not the blood diamond ones, but like pudge or eck) or if we'll even get some just naturally, but if we do, who are some players you guys would want to see? personally, i'd want to see a good starter and another solid outfielder, like larry walker or alfonso soriano for OF or pedro or bartolo for SP

I haven’t played Ranked in around a week. Ever since I made CS. Was sort of waiting until they had a patch. If it doesn’t happen soon I’m going to have to give it a go though to have a shot at WS.
Everyone’s complaints have frightened me a bit from doing it.
i wouldn't worry about everyone else's complaints. i haven't gotten very far in RS with everything else there is to do in the game, but the games that i have played, i don't notice too much wrong. yes, there are some good/good's that are swinging bunts or my fielders will sometimes make some dumb plays, but i only experience like one mishap a game. as long as you have mainly mid-gold or higher pitchers and hitters, you should be fine on RS
-
no, offline pitching doesn't take stamina into account. use the same pitcher 12 games in a row, doesn't mean squat!
-
well what'd u expect? packs are horrible across all sport games
-
get all 3 2nd inning bosses so u can get the voucher. get a head start on the 3rd inning. or save it.
Outfielders still not locking in to balls
SDS or EA
What a waste!!!
