I always do the conquest challenges. In this case, I was playing veteran to try to complete the Jackie Robinson conquest needs. I always get garbage Game Rewards no matter what level I am playing. But...tonight...got Justin Verlander! Too lucky...with a 0.21% chance of just getting a diamond...much less one of the highest stub cards on the game. Feeling Lucky!!!

While it is a bit frustrating to have to hit HR and Steal Bases with a player in the 60s for each area...I was able to complete those items with a little effort.

The most frustrating thing that I encountered with the moments is having Joey Votto on first base over and over when you need an extra base hit. In numerous at bats, I was able to either hit one of the wall or to the wall in a gap...and Votto did not advance to 3rd. There is just about no reason for this to happen. Much less roughly 5 times.

Sunday...I lucked into a Verlander as a game reward! First time I ever got anything worth having for a game reward.

Today, I pull a diamond from team affinity packs on back to back packs:

1. Bellinger Live Series
2. Rob Nenn

To add to my luck on this, I pretty much only needed Verlander and Cole to finish all collections. Selling Bellinger will get me Cole close out everything.

Crazy as it sounds I got Story on Rookie once.

I would have been happy with a silver. So this one saved me a lot of time and stubs! Verlander is one of the last cards that I need to close out the AL. I have closed out the NL (no money spent). I now only need Cole to close out the AL.

I am looking at adding Posey or Minnie at reward Diamond choice (not wild about Larkin...plus I hammer with Didi).

I had thought that I would add Minnie at this spot, but now I am not sure. I tend to prefer more balance players. But, I can see where either could fit well for me. I currently line-up this way.

1. Mantle - CF
2. Sanberg - 2B
3. Reggie - LF
4. Sheffield - 3B
5. Didi - SS
6. Trout - RF
7. Bellinge (97) - 1B
8. Biggio - C

My thought is to add Minnie in LF and bump Reggie over to RF. But, I could do numerous things with Minnie.
Posey could fit right in at C, which would allow me to move Biggio to the OF. Cloud always go Posey at 1B and flip Bellinger to RF.

Thoughts from those who have Minnie and Posey?

Admittedly, I got a late start this year. But I already hate these FoF.

I have just completed my 3rd goal (180,000 and NL East Pack).

I have been given Murphy, Kelly and Realmuto…
3 dang NO SELL Catchers!!! And…I already had Grandal and Perez before getting any of the 3. (Closed out all AL Central)

Trash!!!

I have now lost the Alex Wood vs. Marlins moment 3 times in a row...due to CPU errors!
The last one:

2 Outs in the Top of the 7th
Jesus Aguilar comes up to pinch hit.
He hits a slow roller to SS. Aguilar reaches base with his "Zero" speed due to a throwing error. 2 Singles follow for the loss. Once...OK...but 3 consecutive times!!!

One of the others as due to an error by the 2nd baseman who cut a throw from RF. After the cut, he throws in the direction of 2nd base. The ball flies over the SS into the LF corner to allow a run. You can't make this [censored] up!

I have had very little problem with the majority of the programs.
But...getting extra base hits with Keith Hernandez is just awful. I may break Pete Rose's hit record...with all singles. It is bad when you have to hope for the OF to dive at the ball to get a double. Robinson was a bit painful for similar reasons.

Congrats, always feels nice to get a diamond reward after a game. With packs you're kinda hoping, but after games rewards just come as a complete (welcome) surprise.

I fully agree. My son and I enjoy talking about the game. He has a lot of general luck with game rewards. I absolutely do not. But...this made me feel a lot better. LOL!

To add to this on the side for Posey...the Jackie 99 is extremely similar to Minnie (hope to have soon). So that makes me lean towards Posey as well.

Larkin would be the pure numbers choice, as he would improve my team by the numbers more than any other. But I hate to bump Didi or Correa for someone that I don't trust.

I have still been using Didi at SS. I did finally get on track with Correa a little bit. But Didi has simply been too good to take out of the lineup for me.

Warren Spahn is the worst...

My 15 year-old soon asked about him...and I said it was as bad as Warren Spahn. (Which, I int walked people to get through his moments last year.)
My son responded with...whelp...I am out on that! He hated Spahn's windup.
