I was born in the 80's so I was unable to purchase stock in Microsoft and Apple when their IP was issued...this is totally unfair.

After the post-season, you will be able to grind for 1986 Microsoft stock in the forever program. You won't be able to get prior Apple stock though because it is covered under a different license.

Again, not saying that this is the case, and this is probably a second stupid question, but do the people who play offline and want an easier experience mess with the sliders?

You can ratchet up the "CPU strike frequency," which should concentrate pitches closer to the middle of the plate while keeping the slower speeds, and you can increase the "human power," or whatever that slider is called... is that being done and it's still too difficult?

Changing sliders has no effect in Diamond Dynasty.

Sorry... but this is supposed to play more like a baseball sim; it was presented as such before launch and new steps toward realism were touted, and it should aim to play like one (for once), at least as you get out of the lower difficulties. Not saying that low difficulties should inspire so much struggle (taking peoples' word for it), but higher difficulties should be hard. If not hitting .400 with HRs every 5 at bats "is not fun," then maybe you just don't think baseball is fun unless you change it into something that it is not.

But this thread IS about the lower difficulties, not the higher difficulties. So while your point is valid, it is also irrelevant.

  • Mini-season schedule
  • Orcin_MLBTSO Orcin_MLBTS

I have played 23 games in my current run. No other team has played more than 12. Why do the AI teams lag so far behind? It would make for a more interesting playoff race if we played close to the same number of games as the season progresses.

    but I don't understand this:

@Orcin_MLBTS said in Hitting is not fun:

... turning solid contact into lazy fly balls.

I'm not trying to pick a fight, here... I just don't know what this means. If you hit a lazy fly ball, what is it that makes you think you should have had solid contact? Is it just because of the feedback window?

Yes. The feedback window says that my contact was "good". I think it is reasonable to then assume that my contact was good. I have no other data.

I don't believe you are in a position to understand the concerns expressed by myself and others in this thread. You say that you don't play on anything below all-star. I never play above veteran. You talk about the pci placement, but I use directional hitting. I think your skill level is too high to relate to our difficulties. Again, I don't want to change your experience. I just think that rookie and veteran should be a bit more forgiving.

The original post is true for me also. I have limitations. I play offline only and veteran difficulty to compensate. I understand that I am playing with low diamonds and golds compared to the 99's that we had last year. However, I am playing against AI teams with bronze players. Those bronze pitchers are dotting sweepers and those bronze fielders are robbing extra-base hits with highlight-reel catches. My low diamond hitters are driving perfect-perfect contact right at the fielders or turning solid contact into lazy fly balls. It makes the game frustrating. I just want my bronze/silver offline opponent to play like one, and my own rare good contact to result in something positive. Is that asking too much?

Leave online play alone if people like it. Just make offline grinding a little less painful on the easier difficulties. If people want to be challenged offline, they have the higher difficulties and better rewards for using them.

How about Victor Scott to silver? Too soon?

Wouldn't that be a +5 boost for him? That seems a little ambitious even though he has been playing at a silver level so far

He is on a pace for 3 WAR, and he has 9 SB with 0 CS. But yes, that sounds like too big a jump for only 20% of the season. He might get there by the all-star break if he continues to perform.

I almost mentioned Saggese too, but then the team sent him down.

70% of the Cardinals bullpen deserve downgrades.

Brendan Donovan to gold hopefully. He is still the has the second highest BA behind Judge.

He should also be in consideration for an end of month showcase card

I am hoping for the Donovan showcase card. My theme-team bench could really use a lefty bat with multiple positions.

How about Victor Scott to silver? Too soon?

  • Timing and directional should be removed for ranked diamond dynasty.
  • Orcin_MLBTSO Orcin_MLBTS

Since directional/timing is allowed and it is easier, why don't you just use it yourself?

He is a gatekeeper, so not at all.

They do but the thing is, why use them for stat missions when you can use MLB players and make progress in Team Affinity AND the individual program?

Since I need to use them anyway for the JR missions, I hope to be getting some free progress in other missions (such as April Spotlight) at the same time.

  • Live Series Diamond Market this weekend
  • Orcin_MLBTSO Orcin_MLBTS

Demand is very high for the 7 gatekeepers. The buy price is within 10% of the sell price on all of them. Perhaps flippers are trying to buy stock hoping for the sell to go even higher, but it is more likely that the buy orders are coming from people trying to complete the collection. A big surge of supply (flash sale) or a stubs sale would bring down the prices, but it is a big early in the cycle for either of those.

  • Does anyone else think the home run animation is a step back??
  • Orcin_MLBTSO Orcin_MLBTS

I agree with the OP. The new animation is jarring and ruins the experience of the majestic home run that I just hit.

I doubt they put the cards elsewhere. Its meant to be a grind for an 87 switch hitter.

If you mean Weatherholt, he is not a switch hitter.

  • Spring Breakout Showdown
  • Orcin_MLBTSO Orcin_MLBTS

Yes, I cannot get past Quinn Matthews with a bunch of lefty hitters. This program is poorly designed and not worth the effort. They should just allow these cards to be sold. If I want to spend real money to complete collections, how does that hurt Sony?

No, there is a repeatable quest but it would take 4,000 PXP with spring breakout players to equal one successful attempt of the Showdown.

I was told that the repeatable quest was my option and I should just "shut up and grind".
