That is common. I have the commentary at the end talk bout a 9 out save when the final score was like 12-2. Matt will say a team has lost 8 of their last 10 then someone else talks about how great the team has been. This kind of thing happens all the time.
Pitching the last 3 innings is a save no matter what the score is
A save is pitching the end of a game with the tying run in the hole when you enter the game. Do your homework before coming on here and saying things that are not true.
He's right. You get a save when meeting all four of the following:
-
He is the finishing pitcher in a game won by his team;
-
He is not the winning pitcher;
-
He is credited with at least ⅓ of an inning pitched; and
-
He satisfies one of the following conditions:
A. He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one inning
B. He enters the game with the potential tying run either on base, at bat or on deck
C. He pitches for at least three innings.
