I saw a post from about an hour ago expressing a lot of the same complaints we all have with The Show (trending towards pay for play, gameplay is not rewarding, content is stale, graphics seem to be closer to ps4 than any other sports game) and it led me to think. Maybe we are just getting old? I can’t remember the last time I thought to myself “wow this is a great video game” I mean NCAA was amazing last summer but was it just a rush of nostalgia? The Show has pretty much been recycled roster updates for the past 4 years. Madden has sucked so bad that they’re now introducing slipping and falling in snow as their big update this year. 2k has fallen off my yearly buys. NHL is just as recycled as the show. It all just feels like it’s not as fun as it used to be.

Has anyone else lost the ability to open their choice packs after the server maintenance?

I don’t often open packs because there doesn’t seem to be a real point to it at this stage of the game so they just sit in my inventory. But I just had 201 standard packs, 25 BIAH, 3 jumbo, 4 Diamond duos and a retirement pack. Rough calculation based on “pack odds” should be 7ish diamonds including the retirement pack. Through all of it I got LS Josh Hader, LS Kyle Tucker and a base round.

So SDS I’d like to officially release my apology statement for my last few posts about how stale the content has been. I will forever and always Stan for this game regardless of how it actually is if I can get at least the bare minimum pack odds.

The game feels ok to me but there’s just nothing to play for. The content seems meh. And the Griffey card seems good but I don’t like how they’re telling us who is game end because of the core tag.

I haven’t played the show much this year because life hasn’t allowed as much time as I’d like for video games. I haven’t been active on the forums much either. When I have had time I find myself playing Hogwarts and some other games I wouldn’t even have installed during baseball season. I have been really underwhelmed with content this year overall. I liked the seasons idea but execution has been subpar because of the watered down cards and so many of the same players with similar attributes. I know this will be an unpopular opinion but I miss the truly elite cards. I don’t want immortals back with the stupid exchanges but it makes sense to have 5-10 cards be the best at that position. And for the love of god bring back the topps card art. I can’t stand the kaiju and number retired and all star card art at this point.

I want to see if I’m just out of the loop here or if my opinions are shared. I’ve thought about doing some of the surveys but they turn into 10 min processes.

I’d imagine Harper and Wheeler get a bump soon. They’re back to playing like the back of their baseball cards. I wouldn’t be shocked if Harper got a POTM card too.

I’m sure every fan base thinks this way but I feel like Philadelphia is consistently underrated in these games. Hurts is only an 88 madden lol

Next year, instead of completing PXP missions to earn Topps Now cards, you will have to win a Mortal Kombat-style fight with a kaiju. If you defeat the monster, you earn a giant Mothra egg, which you must protect from monsters and enemy teams. Once the egg hatches, you will be required to raise it, teach it to hunt, and train it in a combination of Aikido and Shaolin Kunf Fu fighting styles. Once your kaiju reaches maturity, a prophecy will be revealed and you and your hatchling must undertake a quest to retrieve 3 ancient amulets that have been hidden in the dark world known as Yojimbo. Whilst in this parallel dimension, you’ll be required to reach base twice and drive in 1 run. Then, and only then, will the next card be unlocked. Pretty much your typical baseball stuff, tbh.

I’m probably the minority here, but I’m not liking the content at all this year. I should mention I was always a fan of the real topps card art and maybe they lost some licensing so I get it. The 99s from day one seem forced. The incognito and kaiju series are corny to me. Having cards that we would want to be end game “Hammerin’ Hank” not have their actual name in the line up or on the jersey is annoying. There seems to be way to many charisma cards. I could have done with less than half of the WBC cards too. Just wanted to vent.

This feels like the madden “AKA” cards. I’m not a fan at all. Seems very corny to me but I’m not 14 so I might not be the targeted audience.

The silver/bronze/commons seem more expensive for the reds than any other non Diamond team. Am I missing something or is Dibble just that good?

I saw this and was so confused until I realized it was sarcasm. I feel like we don't give enough props to SDS for not falling into the pay to play style that EA and 2K are.

I just thought about this post yesterday it's funny it came back to life. Huge L not having a proper Mays card this year. Otherwise I don't have many complaints. Solid game this year.

Do we think there will be another Mays card? Guys arguably the GOAT and his card is pretty average with so many guys having maxed out hitting this year. I’m guessing we get a retro finest at some point but it feels like we are running out of programs.

NL East has been strong in most of these programs. Stott and Watson in the future stars program was strong too.

I'm sure I am the massive minority but I think it's all so corny. I like when they use real topps cards for the art and I like the cards to be based on a specific year or a few prime years.
