I expect we will start to see some of the people who got him and tried him, pass him on soon.....His stats don’t really lend to most people using him unless they are a huge Chipper fan, or just bond with his swing....

Switch hitter with those splits, pretty nice to have. First game was in HOF and he went 2/4 with both out being hard hit line drives. Beautiful swing

Completed orders are showing. It looks sketchy with multiple orders being filled at the same time.

I think it’s why it wasn’t showing before, but it looks like about 46 or so have sold when multiples are removed

If I told you that in order to keep the market active (market dies, game dies too) SDS buy and sell most of the cards themselves with an automated algorithm that will continually buy and sell the cards at set time intervals, provided the price falls within the median value of pre-set parameters, would you believe me? I’m not offering a shred of evidence to support this, I’m just asking for opinions.

I wouldn’t call you crazy. If I remember correctly EA has bought cards off the market in madden before, though I’m not sure it was a regular thing, so I would doubt SDS would do it regularly either

1000% they have to say something. Even if it is just about the system being overloaded, which it very well may be.

But I wanna say this.. Their lack of transparency about many things is why this community goes crazy, at least once a month. Here is just the latest example of many, why people go straight to the conspiracy theories. And I’ve seen it happen over and over throughout my 3 years visiting this forum..

You guys remember around May-June, maybe even July, people would make threads accusing SDS of patching gameplay without mentioning anything with notes, or an update. Everyone said things like: “They can’t legally do that” or “Take off the tin-foil hat” Blah. Blah. Fast forward
2, or so, months later a week full of chaos and confusion about pitcher stamina and no word from SDS. 1 week later, patch notes and a sudden update for pitcher stamina. Confirming they patch this game without saying anything.
Not a huge deal in hindsight, but it did get pretty hectic for a while. And it’s the reason TO THIS DAY we get multiple threads, “Did they nerf hitting?” Or subjects along those lines.

And for the record, I don’t care about getting chipper soon and never played RS during those times. But objectively speaking, I seen the communication from SDS goes out the window from there, and along with that, much of the positivity and trust with the fan base. It kind of makes sense why some folks may get a little wild with their theories lol.

That’s why I believe, fishy or not, they could clear the air and probably make some people happy by speaking up. As someone said earlier, there is money involved. They kind of brought this whole thing on themselves.

Sorry for the long post, just my 2 cents.

This is basically what I was getting at too. Great post.

Current going rate for 1000000 stubs is a bit over $650 🤪

Real easy way for SDS to get $650 out of somebody if they never have to fulfill the order because there is no evidence that any have sold

Naaaah. Nobody’s buying 1m stubs for $650 just to wait in line for Chipper. If anything, it would have the opposite effect. I’ve spoken about this before. Last years content model was more geared towards driving micro transactions, in my opinion, they gave you three bosses in each inning who were generally very good (think 6th inning, Alomar, Verlander, Henderson, for one). As you could only earn one, if you wanted the other two, you’d have to buy them. If you were on the fence or only liked two of them, they offered you the 75 program star voucher and 30000 stubs as a further incentive to collect all three.

Now, as a stub buying player, which is more tempting? To buy 150000 stubs (on sale, at 50% maybe?) to get a 99 overall card like Rickey Henderson instantly, or to drop $650 to wait around for weeks and still not get to use your card? Or if you can’t make WS, don’t have a lot of time to flip cards and you wanted a card like SS Chris Sale today? He’s going to cost you $450 this year. For a card you can only use once every three or four games. I don’t think this years content model is suited to driving micro transactions, certainly not as well as last year. Last year the higher end content was very accessible to players of all levels, be that via spending real money or spending time playing. This year, not so much.

I think the key here is you’re assuming they bought the stubs to buy chipper. I’m assuming they will buy stubs to buy players while they wait on chipper. There are what, 360 1m stub orders right now? That’s a lot of stubs out of the market

It’s not enough. They need to release a super expensive collection or exchange for something. Otherwise, the rampant hyper inflation and demand heavily outweighing supply will continue to influence the market in a manner that is going to be off putting to casual players and newcomers - Basically the stub buying quotient of the player base - who will feel like it’s pointless playing because they can’t ever obtain the cards they want to play with.

    Would finest qualify?

Depends how they implement it. Finest probably will have a collect element. The WS MVP is going to receive a hugely juiced card to entice players to lock in the 2020 postseason collection. Although you receive a lot of cards from moments, some need to be brought and locked in. They also upped the existing collections beyond the Trout vouchers, but the reward was only BIAH packs. I don’t see any of those things having the desired effect on the market.

Outside of another expensive collection for a desirable card that casual players would have no hopes of ever obtaining, which could simply generate more ill will towards SDS, here’s what I see happening. Free BR entries and all previous 12-0 rewards below 99 overall going into a 9 win choice pack will ease the congestion by increasing supply and I see that happening in the future. Putting all previous inning bosses into choice packs is also going to be a big help, if and when that happens. If (when) it does it will probably be the 11th or 12th inning. Headliner bundles in conquest and store will take care of the prices on cards like HW Scherzer and Prime Rob Dibble, allowing those to be obtained cheaply. The only cards that will hold any significant value and encounter supply issues in the future will be previous event rewards which will not be made available again. That’s the solution for hyper inflation and lack of supply. SDS know this and are only waiting until the time is right to pull the trigger.

Excellent response, thanks for taking the time to type it out

Really, though. Can your people stop with the conspiracy garbage? So gd gullible.

There has to be some sketchy reason that we can't see it.
The only reason we think it is sketchy is because they haven't told us anything about it.
If they told us something, it would be fine!

This. Transparency is key in a business, which is what this is. If the buyer doesn’t have all of the information, they should naturally be skeptical of what the seller is doing with their product. That’s how you avoid getting taken advantage of in a capitalist economy

Belief in conspiracy theories is the polar opposite of skepticism.

So you think a business built on making as much money as possible doing something to make more money is a conspiracy theory?

It’s not. It’s what businesses do.

People are accusing them of filling orders on their own and giving them to content creators.

How would that maximize profit? It doesn’t.

I personally don’t buy in to the content creator theory, I threw it out there as something companies have done in the past. But, You see your favorite content creator with the chipper, so you put your 1 million stub order in for chipper, then they drop finest and you want to get some finest cards, guess you have to buy some stubs since your stubs are tied up in your chipper order. That’s a 100% smart business model, even you would have to agree with that

Making Chipper a BR reward was the money move. Risking the loyalty of players to pull some crazy stuff like you’re suggesting, which is unlikely to payoff anyway, is not a smart business model.

Then they should have no problem being transparent about it. But as long as they aren’t transparent, it opens the door for the customers to rightfully question things

The issue is a legit problem. It wouldn’t be if this game was truly a no money spent game. But it’s not. People do spend real money. So it’s a business transaction. The fact that this card and prices on other cards get manipulated by SDS instead of true open market makes you wonder...

It’s a big reason to be no money spent so this is all pretend.

Has SDS made a comment about it. I guess I didn’t even think about the fact real money is involved here. What’s the going rate for 1,000,000 stubs? Because if you put your order in and don’t get it, but people after your order do there is some legal fuzzy grounds I would say, but I’m no lawyer

The question needs to be asked why SDS is not allowing the update of sold cards for him? This is going on almost a week.

I saw this with Pujols but that lasted less than 24 hours. Something fishy is going on.

I try not to jump on the conspiracy bandwagon, but I also agree there is something fishy. Wonder if getting them to content creators is a priority and don’t want to show they are just giving them to accounts or something? Who knows

I got mine Friday and I’m not a content creator. Well, I stream for like 2 friends when they’re around and make the odd video to link here, usually to validate a complaint. If that does count as creating content, it’s merely a technicality.

I mean, to be fair, they would have to give them to regular people as well, or it would be obvious. I don’t think that’s what is actually going on, it’s just something that might explain the lack of transparency
