I’m honestly getting pretty frustrated with the direction of Diamond Dynasty this year.
The biggest issue for me is how limited the actual playable modes feel if you don’t enjoy everything equally. I like quick, 3-inning PvP games—Events have always been my go-to for that. Now they’re not even available all the time, which makes no sense. Why take away a mode that lets people just hop on and play a few quick competitive games whenever they want?
When Events aren’t running, the alternatives just aren’t the same:
- Battle Royale forces a draft every time (which gets old fast)
- Ranked is too long for a quick session
- Mini Seasons is CPU (not interested)
So instead of having options, it feels like I’m being pushed into modes I don’t enjoy or just not playing at all.
On the single-player side, it’s not much better. Showdown is the only offline mode I actually like, and there’s barely been any of it. Meanwhile, there’s an endless stream of Conquest maps, which all feel the same and honestly just feel like busywork.
The overall pattern is what’s frustrating:
- Less freedom to play what you want
- More time-gated and structured content
- Heavy focus on modes that feel like a grind instead of fun
The gameplay itself is still solid, which makes this even more annoying—because the foundation is good. But the way content is being handled is making it harder to just enjoy the game on your own terms.
At the very least, there should be:
- A permanent Events-style 3-inning PvP mode
- More frequent (or rotating) Showdowns instead of constant Conquest maps
Right now it just feels like the game is deciding how I should play instead of letting me play how I want.
