This isn't 100% true. Maybe in Spring Training where guys just free swing until they clobber something by chance...but once you're out of that you play people who at least know how to hit and pitch. I WILL say DD offense IS powered by homers more than it should be...rarely do you see "manufactured" runs

I usually play at CS or WS level. Getting out of the 600s is almost the opposite story. Seems like every game is an 11-10 game of slo-pitch softball. Just as aggravating. All the more reason to wish more people played Ranked online as an alternative.

Diamond Dynasty [censored] sucks. Such a slog. Every game is decided on who gets lucky enough to get a solo shot on an RNG hanger for a 1-0 victory. Ranked online feels so much more like real baseball. An actual difference in cards. Strategy matters more than just mashing buttons. However, with no real incentive to play this mode, it is so hard to get into a match. I would love to be able to play online without habing to deal with the frustration of diamond dynasty, but there seems to be no other alternative.

The thread's chosen name by the OP is therefore misleading. By the rules of baseball, this was not a single to catcher, scoring the batter. Because by the rules of the game, this is not possible. It would have to be a combination of errors that allowed for advance past first base.

SDS is to blame for this. They were handed a roadmap to prevent it from happening and chose to ignore that roadmap and do their own thing. Some people believe SDS deliberately went their own way just so they could manipulate the inevitable cheating for their own purposes.

Lagrasse is a slap in the face to every legitimate stadium designer in the community, and they were handed their opportunity for cheating by SDS.

I tend to agree with you when it comes to cheat stadiums, Lagrass, et al

My title wasn’t intentionally misleading. In the game log the play was listed as “grounded to the catcher for a single, scored on the play” without anything else to go on. The game log has its own set of issues so I didn’t know how this happened but I guess I got my answer. I apologize for any confusion.

Went back and looked at the game log, you are absolutely right, he plays in Lagrasa, the stadium that ruined it for everyone.

Like most online players, he was useless once his crutch was taken away, still sucks that these things happen though. I spent tens of hours creating a realistic, geographically correct stadium I now cannot use online.

Some cards seem to display lower attributes on the lineup screen than they should have, especially the newer spotlight cards. Assumed/hope this is just a visual glitch and that it doesn’t carry over into regular gameplay

Just looked at one of my recent opponents game logs. A lot of 45-0 games against the CPU where every play is either a home run, or a batter grounding to the catcher for a single and scoring on the play. This is against the computer, so it’s not like it’s boosting or anything but I’m curious as to how is able to score like this every single play. A glitch only he’s figured out? Is this move well known in the community? Could be useful when grinding.

LGM! The Mets have been my NL squad since 1987. It sucked it was against the Mariners, but really happy for McLean hoping this gets them back on track but if they could lose one more to the Mariners tonight before going on an eight game winning streak, that would be perfect.

Play online with reg teams. Yes most people pick the dodgers etc but I’m having a lot more fun with it than DD online. There’s no reward really but I do t care.

I’ve been so diamond dynasty heavy over the years. I forget this mode exists. I might have to try it out. could be a much better experience.

A lot of us have dropped drastically in ranked. It’s nearing post season. Players are falling off and moving towards other games. Servers are going to get worse and already are. Gameplay will be worse and DDA and RNG will be worse. When all this happens I start losing silly games to opponents half my rank. But honestly it’s kind of been like this all year. This just happened to me in a game. You’re right I forgot what time of year it is. Mid August. Most of the casuals have moved on to Madden. The only ones left are the diehards and/or the players who are still having success, the players that have the meta scripted down to a tee.

I’ve had enough. Just deleted the game. I’ll probably reinstall after a couple of weeks, but diamond dynasty just isn’t a fun experience right now.

People rarely throw sliders? Usually, I hear the opposite complaint because of how they impact the PCI size. Curveballs? They're usually too easy to read to be used as anything other than dirt-balls. That's been a problem for years.

The 4sm fastball is probably too easy to size up, especially if it doesn't have outlier. Maybe they should switch those peanut-sized PCIs from sliders/changeups to 4sm fastballs?

How can people use exclusively opposite-handed hitters? Like I recently told someone else who demanded a switch-hitter limit, even if they limit it to 4, your opponent could still start 4RHB with 4LHB coming off the bench. SDS can't do much about that.

Diamond Dynasty is always going to lean toward an arcade style, especially after the first few months before the player overalls are jacked up and everyone is given a sinker.

Maybe I’m salty, because I’m a World Series player that can’t get out of wild card, but jeez, every game has been the same this season. Everyone I match up against eventually fields a lineup of all opposite sided hitters. Check swings are rampant, you can’t strike anyone out, and fastballs get murdered.

On the pitching side, the only pitches that are thrown are sinkers in, cutters and changes. Pictures that would get crushed in a real major league game are thrown five times in a row for strikes in the show. No one throws a fastball (despite it being a primary pitch for most) or a curveball and sliders are rarer than they should be, Just faced Luis Castillo who threw two fastballs out of 70 pitches.

I know this is mostly just me bitching after a long losing streak, but [censored], it’s been frustrating. How does a five pitch pitcher get away with throwing his fourth and fifth pitch exclusively all game? Why is a fastball so useless? How are people able to use exclusively opposite handed hitters? Because the code rewards this style of play, so why wouldn’t you use it? Maybe I’m wrong, but this does not seem akin to an actual baseball game and it leads to a very repetitive and frustrating experience

Strike zone high and on a monitor. I’ve always had a pitcher’s mentality, but now I’m old and slow as well. I still farewell on All Star but once I get into the 6 two or 700s I’m looking at two a game and I mean hits.

I pitch well, but can’t hit for [censored]. Been like this ‘17. Anyone want to grab the controller and hit for me?

I’m having this same issue. Created stadiums (kind of) worked the last few days of ranked seasons, but during the weekend classic has been a random stadium. Was wondering if this was a glitch. It would make sense to turn off created stadiums for the classic, as they weren’t available for most of the season, but it would be nice to know if this was the case.

I had this issue. Went back and tweaked the infield dirt, resaved and uploaded. Rebus fixed the flicker but lead to a lot of display issues where the elevation attendance and stadium image was not displaying correctly as well as multiple, versions of the same file. It does however play and display correctly once online so it kinda works? Long story short, I do not know if I would use my method to fix the flickering issue.

Update:

I was able to upload one of my custom stadiums, despite the attendance and elevation being incorrect. Went to play in it and found a bunch of copies of my crested stadiums with the names elevation and attendance figures being those of template stadiums. Tried one of these with my stadiums picture and it seemed to load fine. Played ok and attendance and elevation were correct. Maybe just a display error? It is cumbersome to have to sort through a lot of copies of slightly different stadiums to get the correct one.

Sorry about the lengthy post, I’m sure most of you probably do not care, but Stadium Creator is my favorite mode. Was incredibly disappointed when it didn’t work out of the gate and was so excited when I saw in today’s update that it may (or may not) have been fixed
